However, on that subject, I've found a podcast that I'm enjoying quite a bit called 60 songs that explain the 90's. I think he's gone beyond that 60 song mark by now, and is well into the 2000's songs.
He's a former rock critic looking back at some era defining music. Often starts with a connection to some other important music that he connects the song to, then a fun bit of his own personal nostalgia, some unique facts or analysis of the music, the song's place in a historical context or what makes it important/memorable, and then usually an interview with someone else in the music world to share their thoughts on the song.
It often provides a lot of inspiration for my "what are you listening to right now" posts.

I know there's been a popular backlash against Mumford for being too formulaic or Christian or tepid soft rock, but #### it, I still love them. I'll be a lame middle aged man for saying that, I don't care. I like what I like.
That was great. Trombone Shorty stole the show. So much energy from everyone.
And Jon Batiste is the second coolest accordion player ever...second to Weird Al.

It's midnight here, and I'm feeling blue. I call on my old friend Matt to at least provide company for this misery. Despite all the wonderful blessings in my life, I still constantly fear the worst. I don't trust that I will remain content or happy, or that these blessings will remain in my life.
"Why can love never touch my heart like fear does?"
Maybe this is better served in the mental health thread? I dunno...

And here is an appropriate follow up. From the same album, but this is the opening track.
Imagine, hearing this band for the first time and this is how you are introduced to them. Emotional, visceral, challenging. It shook me a little the first time I heard it.
Maybe the Buddhists have it right. Attachment to people or things only leads to suffering, and an eternal struggle to fulfill oneself.
