Default BC Speeding Ticket - Demerit Points in Alberta?

Thought I'd ask CP this... I was the lucky recipient of a couple (not terribly over) speeding tickets over course of the July long weekend in BC.

The dollar figure isn't a tonne, but I am concerned about the demerits. Does anyone know if BC speeding/highway tickets demerits transfer over to Alberta?

Anyone had their insurance company hit them for BC tickets?

I got one in BC and was told the demerits would show up after a few months. Never did.

I got caught pulled over and fined last fall in BC. I renewed my auto insurance this spring. No demerits.

based on my googling, lots of partial truths out there... Crazy there's no obvious answer.

As best I can put together, BC never signed the Canadian driver license compact, so there isn't sharing from BC to other provinces... But then a few folks who got more serious charges have said sometimes BC will send stuff to Alberta. But it seems pretty loose on if or when that ever happens.

Just trying to determine if I should spend the cash on a BC law firm to exercise my rights to dispute the ticket, or just pay it and move on. Apparently you have 30 days to dispute.

That's interesting, I got one in Minnesota years ago and it showed up on my SK DL.

Wow. Was it a criminal level speeding in the USA?

Or did you mean Manitoba?

Didja get the ticket with option to appeal online?

Or the stupidity mail only, or appeal in person at ICBC. If it’s the latter, make sure to give time for snail mail or an ICBC visit.

I got one a few years back on HWY 93 near Radium, I thought about fighting it but ended up mailing in a check for payment later that week, not only did the demerits not show up they never cashed the check

What? I thought everything was legal in BC? What are they going to do, ask him politely not to do it again?

I got in Invermere 12 years or more ago. Never paid it, no demerits ever showed up. Haven't ever been stopped again, plus it's rarely me driving when we're in BC, lol. I imagine they could make a fuss if stopped but I guess those are the chances.
