I still feel there's zero chance they give up Bischel even one for one for Andersson (which I would be over the moon with, btw) but that would nice if it happened.

The guys I listed were acquired before drafting Barkov, except for Luongo who was in between Barkov and Luongo.
Team don't just stop acquiring good players when they become available.

Dallas needs players on cheap contracts and they would create a hole by trading him and have to spend money on a likely lesser player.
They probably take Andersson for picks and a prospect with cap retention.
They are in a cap crunch. Adding Andersson and moving out someone on a ELC compounds that issue.
I think that’s why the trade has not been made.

Florida had issues atttacting players and Tallon was bringing in his Chicago crew. Likely why it didn’t work with those players and they failed and got high picks and had to wait out those bad decisions to build around Barkov and Ekblad and Huberdeau.
Funny enough we could be a similar position if we get some luck in the next few drafts and get high picks and the contracts for Kadri and Coleman expire in the. Ext few years.

Yeah, they want to get cheaper and they don't want to subtract from their NHL roster. That's why most of CP's trade proposals won't happen and why they're not a great trade partner at all, despite what many are suggesting on here.
It's our Achilles heal as a board (and probably every message board in every sport), we look to how the player proposed to come to us helps us and not what the teams dealing him loses off a contender. Very few contenders are going to subtract from their NHL roster AT ALL to potentially improve in another area.
They're going to deal prospects and picks, that's damn SOP for contenders, and we're here going through their roster and picking potential top 2 centers, top 6 forward and top 4 Dman candidates as trade returns, but.......if we're taking that guy for Andersson we need something more coming back!!!!

Perhaps Conroy and his team don't agree, but I don't understand the culture of mediocrity that we are building.

Everyone is welcome to have their opinion. Some people have valid points that we will never rebuild, and they might get mad that some of us bring it up.
My opinion is as a fan, you should want your team to be held to a high standard. I'm not going to pretend everything is great with the team direction if I see a path to improve it.
We have always done the same thing, and ownership mindset has been since the 2004 season that you can sneak in and who knows what happens after that. While this is true, and teams do catch fire from time to time (like Montreal when they went on a run, or St Louis), this is not a path for sustained success.
We all want the same thing, for them to win. I think the only way we will win a cup is if we commit more to a rebuild. Some people think retooling on the fly could work, I don't see a lot of examples of that working without having elite players. But I can see the other side of the argument.
We can technically have less success as an organization if we turn into Buffalo. There is always the possibility a rebuild does not work.

I think he meant snore as in there are no trades happening. I really don't think Scorpion is one to get into a fight with other users.
