I wonder how many people didn't even see the post credit sequence especially those watching at home that press exit on the remote as soon as the credits roll? It would be unfortunate to miss after 2+ hours as I found it brought closure to the film.

The problem streaming is often the credits shrink and ad stuff is all over, all you want to do is exit as quickly as possible. I think for streaming they should maybe just show you it immediately? Mid/post credit stuff is super dumb, unless it's one of those montage things like some comedies do. Like, if you want the audience to see your hard work, maybe don't hide it after Key Grip #3.

The key grip is the head of the grip department so there usually isn’t more than one. If you gave credits the respect they deserve you’d know that. /s

So is superman any good?

I've never cared much for the character so the incentive is low for me, but I respect Reeves and thought Cavill brought a watchable interpretation of the character.

I saw the tomatometer but im still skeptical. There are a lot of people who will gobble up anything from Gunn even though his films are mainly neither great nor bad.

Key grip or first company grip: the boss or head of the grip department.
Best boy grip or second company grip: this is the key grip's right-hand person. He or she will act on behalf of the key grip in areas such as booking crew and equipment rental.
3rd grip, company grip, hammer, or gang grip: the majority of grips fit into this category. They work on set under the direction of the key.
Construction grip: Constructs and dismantles the set. On the sound stage, construction grips are responsible for laying out, building, moving, and adjusting major set pieces (e.g. walls, ceiling flats) when something needs to be moved to get a camera or lights into position. Construction grips also build decks and platforms.
Dolly grip: operates the dollies and sometimes camera cranes.

The best boy grip is the key grip's right hand person, and now I'm wondering if all this just applies to porn production.

Not my favorite iteration of Supes if I'm honest. It honestly felt thrown together haphazardly. Too much Krypto, too much Justice Gang. Some really really good parts though.

Still prefer Cavils Superman. I'd put this one above Brendan Rouths Superman but under Cavil and Reeves respectively.

Superman felt like an enjoyable version of a bronze age (70's to 80's) comic book. I do generally enjoy Gunn movies, I think he really gets the genre, although this is much lighter than something like GoG3 or The Suicide Squad. Good vibes, good casting choices and the actors deliver. Had some laughs, to me the amount and style of humor was pretty good. It's a silly movie in a mostly good way, clearly targeted for a younger audience than the Snyderverse, which is as it should be IMO.

Really liked the Justice Gang, especially Mr. Terrific, a character I knew nothing about. Lex Luthor really hit the mark, there was something simultaneously really nasty and menacing, but also sad and pathetic about him. You really want to see the guy get what's coming to him.

Felt fresh with it's old fashioned way of portraying Superman as a genuinely good man.

It's a very solid 3/5 good vibes summer action adventure blockbuster. Not at all deep, cartoonish. The story is good enough but nothing more. I did have a really good time watching it (despite having an absolutely terrible day otherwise), but I'm not going to remember it for very long.

(The rah-rah about "wokeness" is just silly, it's just Superman being Superman and not even a particularly woke version of that.)

Tonight's Mystery Movie was Together. I was curious (almost apprehensive) of seeing the movie based on the trailers, but it's been receiving rave reviews. 100% on rottentomatoes currently https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/together_2025 with many calling it the best horror movie of 2025.

I absolutely loved it! Very well made movie, creepy, tense, funny, and spine tingling body horror. It was reminiscent of The Substance intertwined with an episode of The X-Files. Brie and Franco were fantastic together... there was more than one occasion where I had to look away in shock/horror. It was a well thought out movie, about relationships and codependency. Who needs who more, and what makes a relationship strong. Honestly it's a great movie for couples. I am going to take my wife to see it as well. A huge recommendation, and I'm sure many posters here will love it. Does't hurt that I have a crush on Alison Brie, and surely most women like Dave Franco.

Also a huge shoutout to the mystery movie format, as it continues to deliver bangers well into 2025. Well worth checking out every single showing. They're more than half the price of a regular showing for early access screenings.

Alison Brie and Dave Franco must have had a blast making that.

Given that they're a real life couple it adds a layer to it, haha. Acting couple goals - costar in a creepy body horror about codependency with partial nudity?

And am i wrong but Michael Shanks of Stargate SG-1 fame directed? Clearly he's found his new calling!

Felt like a loose spiritual successor to The Substance with the body horror aspect.

Solid mix of creepy and funny. I had a good time.

SO glad we got that and not IKWYDLS. That one looked like forgettable rubbish. This was great.

Neon is proving to be a worthy nemesis to A24. Pumping out artsy horror bangers.
