Oh I wouldn't hold todays turnout against them. But even if you watch a regular Riders game there's empty sections of seats everywhere.

One of the things they showed and I’ve mentioned it from the get go is we don’t blitz much at all. When you can get consistent pressure from 4 man pressure you have pretty much won the game on the defensive side.
We are not doing anything special at all. It’s good base defence with excellent tackling and coverage. And yes you can see coaching makes a difference. Some of these guys are same players from last year.

Before I watched the Stamps vs Riders game yesterday, I looked at Riders record, 4-0 to start the season? I think to myself, holy cow, since when did Riders gotten this good? Then proceed to watch the game, huh? They are still the same nothing burger.

I'm just a guy posting random thoughts on this site, but I wonder how long the Elks are going to continue with Tre Ford under center? The CFL rules have changed and you can have multiple QB's on the field for offensive plays, why not have a few plays in the playbook with Fajardo as QB and Tre Ford lining up as receiver or in the slot? Take advantage of Ford's speed and elusiveness as much as you can.

Not too many plays in the playbook when you're facing 3rd and 28 lol

Cody Fajardo is warming up on the sidelines and looking like he's ready to come in the next time the Elks have the ball.

Remember when Glen Suitor compared Tre Ford to Doug Flutie. Good times...

That was dirty as hell...Not quite a defenseless receiver, but very close and no need to go helmet-to-helmet.

BC had the ball for over 43 minutes, that's crazy.

Jesus Christ, the Esks have to do something, because they're going to drive their fanbase completely away. to show up at home and have your starting QB throw for 34 yards in 3 quarters, to have your running backs rush for 4 yards (I could do that).
And to have your defense sitting on the field for about 40 minutes. If I'm the DC I'm absolutely losing it on Mark. I mean I like Mark a lot, but I don't think he's a head coach.
If I'm Edmonton ownership I'm rage cleaning out the entire organization. You scouts you're all gone, Coaching staff, blammo LAdy that makes me sandwhiches, hit the bricks.
That was a pathetic display of football. The CFL should have called TSN at the half and asked them to play a rerun of a spelling bee, just to get that off of people's TV.s
BC should have put 60 points on the board too.

I feel a little sorry for Kilam but it's always nice to see Hervey and the Eskimos crash and burn. Ford has to be out of rope by now as they have given him plenty of opportunities and it's clear he's more of a change of pace backup QB than he is a starting QB.

Yup, Ed "there are no superstars in this league" Hervey has sure built a cohesive team up there in Edmonton.

It surprises me that they don't have designed run plays for Ford or at least some passing plays that moves him out of the pocket. I agree, the sample size is big enough now to see that he's likely a backup who is not good when in the pocket.
I love watching them lose especially with all the free agents that they signed this offseason. 6 weeks into the season and it appears they are going to miss the playoffs again.
