Do you balls hang low
Do they wabble to and fro
Can you tie them in a knot
Can you tie them in a bow
Can you throw them over your shoulder like a continental soldier
Do you ball hang low

We said constipated soldier when we sang this ditty as kids. Of course, someone singing this song would immediately realized you could substitute balls for dick.
IDK if this song was more annoying than the song that never ends.

People who allow trees on their property to become so overgrown and out of control that they infringe onto the sidewalk.
Cut, trim and maintain your trees
We are supposed to be living in a society

I know what you mean with some of the large trees and hedges. However, I believe the city owns the first 3 or 4 feet from the edge of the sidewalk, so basically they have some responsibility to maintain that area.

Nope. It's the home owner's responsibility to maintain this right of way.

I’ve noticed it a lot in the community too, it’s now getting to the age where a lot of these trees that never needed maintenance are in real need of being cleaned up.
I’ve got a pretty big tree in my front yard and just this year I hacked off the 2 lowest boughs and trimmed off a bunch of the smaller branches.
Has anyone ever had to deal with a neighbors tree root protruding through the grass in your back yard? I have no trees in mine and my there’s only 1 tree big enough and near by to have a root that size in my yard. Next year I’m going to re do the back yard with lots of mulch, a patio stone seating area and lots of garden bed space. That root is right where the patio stones will be, am I cool to dig up around the root and cut it off?

Even though it's city property, it's the homeowner's responsibility to maintain the sidewalk and boulevard between the property line and the curb, which means mowing grass on the boulevard and clearing snow from the sidewalk.
However, trees and shrubs have their own bylaw which prohibits cutting or pruning trees that are on public land -- including the boulevard adjacent to a private property. In those cases, the homeowner could be fined if they trimmed the trees that are in the boulevard next to their property.
This property in Crescent Heights is a good example: https://maps.app.goo.gl/GGNZBLhcdqfPgWWA9
The boulevard and sidewalk are city property and the property line is likely the edge of the sidewalk closest to the house. This means the hedge along the sidewalk would be the owner's responsibility to keep trimmed but the city would be responsible for the bush and tree on the boulevard.
A good rule is if it's planted between the street and the sidewalk, it's probably the city's and if it's planted between the building and the sidewalk, it's probably the property owner's.
If it's bad enough, just report it on 311 and let them figure out who's responsible.

White cars/SUVs/trucks/Vans
Why
They are ugly as ####
I understand fleet vehicles
But who the #### buys a white vehicle ?
Also there seems to be a lot of them in Calgary. I’ve been traveling to Montreal and Toronto (GTA) a lot this year.
There doesn’t seem to be as many ugly white vehicles in those cities

A significant majority of the car-buying public, it seems. White is consistently one of the top 3 most colors, if not the top, of colors of purchased cars.
I'm with you, it's a boring color. But it seems a lot of folks like it.

I heard once that white vehicles have cheaper insurance premiums than other colors of the same make/model.

It's the same reason why vanilla is the most popular flavor, white is the most popular colour. It's boring for sure but it's also really easy to keep clean and when a white car is washed and waxed, it looks great. Other colours also look amazing but are harder to keep up.

Drove up the Icefield’s parkway today, set cruise at a reasonable 95kph, can’t believe how crazy some people want to drive along it. If you don’t want to enjoy the scenery, then take a different road instead of tailgating and speeding.

wrong
White vehicles are bland, boring and those that own them should be ashamed.

Well I specifically said people's property, i.e.: their front yard
but frankly if you have to look at the tree that is in the piece of land between the sidewalk and road, why the #### would you not keep it up and looking good.
It's not a lot of work.
