Which is important, because you can't lose two straight in the wild card round if you have a bye
And you would avoid the Rays in the Wildcard. I couldnt stomach having a great regular season only to run into the stinking Rays in the playoffs.

Weird start time tonight. I can't remember the last time the Jays had an 8pm start on a Saturday.

Crazy that the all time leader in hits as a Blue Jay (Fernandez) only has 1500. Shows that in the nearly 50 year history of the blue jays, they never had a home grown superstar start and end their career there. Vladdy will be the first, hope he challenges 3000.

Trade Gausman for a better starting pitcher?

Yeah, its pretty rough. You could see everything heading to that 2 run homer. They were clearly thinking of taking him out but let him stay.

Barger with a brutal AB. 3-0 count to strike out was tough.

Very poor production and execution there, had to at the very least tie that game in that inning.

What a wasted 8th inning. Runners on 2nd and 3rd, no outs. Had to f-in tie the game this inning. Thats likely it.

As good as he’s been he’s gonna need to learn how to fend off some pitches and get some contact, he didn’t need to do much there.

Yeah, barger was the lifeline for the A's that inning. Had them on the ropes for the tying run at minimum. Then he just swung freely without propose and boom, A's back in control.

Ump just literally F***ed clemente into a 2-1 count that should have been 3-0. And then questionable strike out call to make it even worse. Turning point of the 9th, that likely wins the game for the A's.

1 for 12 with runners in scoring position, and three errors all by the catcher. That’s gonna lose you some ball games.

Let's hope they don't tailspin after what they've accomplished. Baseball is all about momentum in one direction or the other and they are obviously flawed as far as division leading teams go. Just shake it off and play decent baseball to stay ahead and don't fall off for a losing streak.

Gross. 1-12 with RISP gives me flashbacks. Rooker with a wall scraper to win the game.

Don't agree with Lukes with the sacrifice bunt. That was ball 2 he bunted. Also don't agree with Schneider being taken out so early for Barger. You're thinning the bench that they can ultimately pitch against and that last Barger AB was brutal.

Ho hum. But losing 2 of 3 against the A's and Sox sucks. Need to win tomorrow to keep some good feels going into the break.

Win tomorrow and we can all feel better during the All Star break.

Bonuses will be the Cubs beating the Yanks again and the Red Sox sweeping the D-Rays.
