I read that Venus Williams will be playing the WTA DC tourney coming up shortly and she has 7 slams (the list below is for active players which didn't include Venus).

Nope. Graf 1988, 6-0 6-0 in 34 minutes (including a rain delay so actually even shorter), in the midst of her golden slam. 6 bagels in 7 matches for Graf that tournament.

By the way, there is a Canadian playing in a final of a tourney on Sunday. Liam Draxl is in the Winnipeg Challenger final and taking on Alexander Blockx. Second straight challenger final for Liam and his live ranking is up to career high of #126

Jannik better close this out in four sets because I don't like his chances if it goes five.

I would guess this is the first major winner who has won a major that included a match where he didn't win a set.

Sinner said after the French open that he now knows he can hang with Alcaraz for 5 hours. That was the big lesson he took away.
This match was the first step for him believing he can go all the way and win. Scary for everyone else on tour.
For Alcaraz, he can't have up and down emotions in the match. If he does go low, he simply has to rally more and play high percentage tennis to get his feel for the game back. Then he can play his repertoire of shots.
Congrats Sinner.

Alcaraz hasn't been good in Aussie so even though he gets first crack you'd still think Sinner is a better bet win the French next year.

Sinner's strengths are amplified in hard courts. You'd have to think he's got AUS and US down barring injury. FO and Wimbledon is a bit more of a toss up.
Sinner's height and serve will help him sustain Wimbledon. He ups his rally tolerance on clay and maybe a calendar slam is on the cards.
