My friend is involved with that charity. They also have lots of supporters amongst Flames players.
Another option if you can't donate money is to connect with them about left-over medications and special food you have after a pet passes on. When my girl passed away, I donated her left-over medications and soft food, as my other dogs didn't need it.

As a former estate lawyer I can tell you animals charities are enormously well funded. That is fine to a certain extent, but let’s help more humans.

I don't donate on a recurring basis but I donate to the Red Cross and Unicef as the need arises. I give to Kiva, I know it's not a charity as the money is paid back but it's a hand up for impoverished people. I do pay the admin fees so the entirety of the money goes to fund the loan. Whenever I checkout at self checkouts I usually donate to whatever cause they're supporting...and Paypal.

While there may be a certain well-known animal charity that gets a lot of bequests, that is far from the case with a lot of others.
This sounds a lot like people saying we shouldn't help those in other countries, because Canadians need help.
If you have a charity you want to recommend, maybe recommend it without complaining about other people's choices?

Live in Chilliwack BC and only exclusively donate to the food bank. Tried to volunteer but was turned down because they have enough for the times I am available

People in other countries are humans. I’m comparing humans to stray cats and dogs.

We support animal charities. We foster cats with AARCS, and my spouse volunteers at the Regal Cat Cafe for Meow Foundation. From what I can see regarding the staff they aren’t driving expensive cars or popping champagne bottles at lunch.

Libraries...they are great for so many reasons. If they ever were, they are no longer just book repositories. They are so many things to so many people, in particular the disadvantaged and those new to a community.
I contribute both to my alma mater's library, and to the CPL. The CPL card is free so I try to contribute at least the value I think I get out of it.
Both of these are also in tribute to my mother, who wanted to be a librarian but never had the opportunity/training to do anything more than a bit of volunteering in my school library.

Heading into day 3 of our annual Mountain Golf Tour to support Victoria Hospice.
Sitting at just shy of $35,000 raised this year and may hit $250,000 to date this year.
https://victoriahospice.org/event/mo...-tournament-3/
Today is 4 man scramble teams at Bear Mountain which my team won last year and we go as the same team to try and retain our title today.
