I’ve never seen a team forecheck like they do. Ever.

So a mix of coaching and building an identity and buy in from the players I guess?

Just wave after wave after wave after wave

It's the buy in from everyone and the makeup of the roster + coaching. A lot of excellent two-way players (Barkov, Reinhart, Lundell, Luostarinen) but also they work as a unit on the ice and have complete confidence that when one guy goes, everyone follows. The way their D pinch almost every single time in the o-zone is something to watch. They are wagon when it comes to teamwork.

Yeah a regular quote will do in that case.

The Hurricanes also forecheck like maniacs. The difference is the Panthers are more physical/intimidating/dirty and have more proven scorers.

Culture, tenacity, depth.

And the right pieces at each position.

Maurice's mix of hard nosed and charismatic personality also works really well to rally the group. He employs the always earned, never given philosophy well.

There are too many teams out there where guys are guaranteed ice time abd favorable positions regardless of their play. Results suffer because of it.

Does anyone here think Craig Conroy could steal a page and learn something from Florida to build a cup-contending/playoff-ready team here in Calgary?

There aren't any secrets with how Florida is built. Every organization has the exact same opportunity to learn the same lessons, so it's unlikely anyone can gain much of an advantage over others by it.

For example, I think the whole league will pick up on the importance of pro scouting and the possibility of finding gems among the "discarded toys" of other teams. This just means it will be a little harder than before for any one team to outdo others in this area.

Emphasizing chemistry and culture are also things most teams will probably look at, but these also aren't exactly secrets.
