Ballerina was pretty fun. Being part of the John Wick universe it was of course way over the top. Especially the beatings she'd take then get right back up. But mindless fun and good to see characters from the JW films play important roles.

Movies should start with credits, that way the entire movie would be the best part.

They used to, but then there was a shift, probably because audiences complained. The major credits often preceded the movie with only the minor credits coming in a scrawl at the end.

It probably had something to do with money.

Part of the push for moving credits to the end was that more people needed to be listed; under the studio system, most of the crew and even cast were studio employees rather than employees of the movie, and went uncredited

Just watched Friendship, that was a trip. I can't imagine what someone who's never seen Tim Robinson's shows before might think, but it slots in very nicely as a feature length ITYSL episode. So many great throw away one-liners that take a second to hit you. Usually I'm not even a fan of cringe comedy, but Robinson is so completely absurd it's impossible not to laugh

So if you count the names in the credits, that’s how many people watching the movie give a crap about the credits. i.e. waste of time. Number one union requirement… said the word twice now. Where is he?

Supervising the water pourers at the batter mixing station at the union pancake breakfast? Started Monday and they should be serving up the first pancake Sunday night.

Superman was pretty good. 4/5 stars.

David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan are superb. Their Clark and Lois feel vivid, flawed, and human. Corenswet’s Superman is impetuous and imperfect, yet radiates hope in a way that’s quite moving.

I didn’t really know who any of the supporting characters were, but it didn’t matter in the slightest. The movie felt slightly trimmed and condensed in parts, and an extra 20 minutes or so might’ve deepened some character arcs.

The movie’s not perfect, but it’s so candidly Superman--and its heart is undeniable.

Is it more Christopher Reeve or Henry Cavill?

In terms of Hope, optimism, and sense of humanity, Superman is definitely Reeves over the intense, brooding version we got with Cavill.

That's good to hear. Superman has never been Batman, so I don't know why they tried so hard to make him that. Oh, wait, ya Batman made lots of money.

Saw Superman, it was fine, don't really think Gunn should've directed it himself, my main gripe beyond the weird tonal shifts was just how ugly it looked.

You're thinking of Bruce Wayne and he inherited most of that.

I actually feel like Superman 3 is underrated. Is it perfect? Hell no. But I feel there is enough good to outweigh the bad. Plus the scene where the girl turns into a robot at the end scared me as a child and seeing 80s Calgary on film is always a treat. So before you see the new one and want to watch some of the classics don't skip 3.
