Hardly claim to be an insider. Just fortunate to know a tiny bit amount more than the average fan.
Anything I share isn't really earth shattering or "privileged" info. I literally said go enjoy the summer.

Not saying you don’t have a connection (I am sure you do) but the answer was always LOL. The whole thing never ever made any sense.

Oh i'm totally an insider now! I was at a stampede block party last Friday and saw Conroy there. I asked him what the offer for Rasmus was and he just smiled! lol

It's been said a ton but not enough. Endless thanks to those that share any info they have. Love coming to this thread to scan for their updates. Its entertaining and engaging.
I can't for the life of me understand why people leave such needlessly bitter comments about their legitimacy. Keep it to yourself honestly, no one likes a wet blanket.

Anyway, am personally convinced that Conroy is just rebuilding, period, but being incredibly sneaky. He could have easily added to the team by now to improve them. I personally think the target to get to is a "Respectable Tank". It doesn't make much sense to use assets to prop-up this team, and the best prospects are near the bottom. He just doesn't want a burn it to the ground rebuild, but I do think the target is to draft high this season, and maybe next. I guess we will see. This team will work hard, but lose more than they win.
I am sure if there is a move in which it makes sense to acquire a young player that they feel is a good fit long term, Conroy will make that deal. Other than that, I just think this is a rebuild. If he suddenly adds players rather than trades some for futures, then I will pivot on my opinion, but as of now, a fairly deep rebuild is what I believe is happening.

Flames would still LIKE to move Andersson, but not going to do so from position of weakness aka terrible offers (there's no rush)
Flames still interested in Byram (lol offersheet) but aren't going to sell the farm to acquire nor pay him #1D man money at this point, to be continued.
Flames very much listening to everything and anything but I would echo to just enjoy your summer and stay tuned in from time to time. There's nothing close, or imminent by any stretch.

Now we hear they were considering an offer sheet but decided not to due to the contract.
This is from a team that consistently has tried to put a competitive roster forward, even when they arguably should be focused on a rebuild. Conroy himself has prioritized acquiring mid 20s players, even trading a second, seventh, and a prospect to get Frost and Farabee.
If he is considering trading the Flames 1st then that is really concerning. But we don't know that for sure as he hasn't pulled the trigger yet. But at a minimum he is at least trying to make moves to early for where we are in the rebuild.

When LeBrun is back in september he usually writes a lengthy piece on what almost happened. He had some good detail about the Chucky stuff that went down.

It's actually interesting to look back at the Tkachuk and Eichel saga.
In hindsight Buffalo should have taken Tkachuk for Eichel, and then just flipped Tkachuk that offseason.
Would have ended up looking like:
Flames: Eichel
Panthers: Tkachuk
Sabres: Huberdeau, Weegar, 1st
Which in my opinion would have worked out a lot better for both Buffalo and Calgary than it actually did.

I for one will be too worried about the possibility of a poor return for Anderson to come anywhere near "enjoying my summer" .

My brain controls are mounted on my neck bolts. Easier to get at, plus chicks dig it when I rock the Frankenstein's Monster look.

I feel sorry for you. Not sure that a team I cheer for can really do anything to stop me from "enjoying my summer". There are other things much more immediate, but that isn't one of them for sure.
Help is available.
