I like the idea of the America party being real because the margins are so close between Republicans and Democrats in their elections, and elons party would take away mostly republican votes

I don't see any evidence that Elon cares anything about what happens to the Republican party. I don't even think Trump cares.
Elon is pretty disillusioned in thinking he has the finger on the pulse of the 80% of the middle of America. His DOGE work was very unpopular.
He pretty much would just have the support of the Tea Party types, but a lot of them don't like him.
They could gain some power by running 10-20 house candidates in districts they can win by going after heavy red district that are disillusioned with the Republicans spending too much money.
If they could control the balance of power in the house, they would have an out-sized amount of power to push their agenda.
