Here we go again. I have a bad habit of buying a large lego build when my wife goes away. she is going away this weekend.
I wanted to try an off brand lego...so I'm going to try to build the FunWhole A-Frame. It has great ratings, and apparently is very close to the Lego clutch ability (ability to click together).

it's just over 2600 pieces and was on sale on amazon for $94...and that includes the lighting package. I'll put info here on how it goes.
It won't turn me away from official Lego...but I'm interested in seeing a different design/build philosophy.

Unrelated, I did a Lego work thing with Stacey Roy who was on LegoMasters. She's originally from Banff.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stacey_Roy Interesting to hear about how they do the show. 14 hour days x 6 days a week. I asked what the brick count was for an average build. She said that no one was really counting...but that the Lego pit has 5,000,000 pieces in it and they often ran out of different colours or specialty shapes. She also said that their hands were a mess from the building, but the worst was the many collisions as people raced to get different pieces. She also said that the most difficult thing was in trying to communicate with your partner about ideas, but everyone was in close proximity so if you had a great idea, others would know what you were doing. She found that challenging. Anyways...I found it interesting!
