Wow that looks like a great deal for Minny, even if Harley goes Norris candidate

I get the best player in the deal and the type of player that looks like you can either get a King's ransom for at some point to recoup what you lost or just give a max contact too every time and be happy with.
I actually don't rate Geekie. I could be wrong, but I just don't see him being more than a middle six guy. Eiserman was hard to lose. I absolutely love him and I think he is going to be a player... But I had to pick him or Lekkerimaki and I think Lekkerimaki will also be a player. They do the same thing from the same position in the same spot.
Byram... May not be the player I thought Byram was, but I still adore him. I definitely see me going back for him at some point.
With Harley I also get Lombos who is probably not going to be a top pairing guy ever but he has second pair potential still. Anthony Romani is a pretty good lottery ticket. Only three other players have had u19 seasons as good as him in the OHL: McDavid, Stamkos and Patrick Kane. If he can develop in the AHL this year I'll feel very good about this.

From the Wild POV this isn't quite the type of deal we were looking for, as I was trying to flip Harley for a forward. However, the value is strong. I think Eiserman has really good upside still despite falling in the draft. So that was the key asset for me.

I think its a classic Jiri move.
Move a guy like Harley for something that helps him now (Byram) and something later (prospect(s)/pick(s)).
I am one of the non believers in Byram and hope he is in the KHL in a few years just because he is on the Wild now.

Bryam will be moved later this summer, to who knows where (NHL)
My guess, he has a strong NHL season,
Just needs to get away from the Sabres

I was in on that too but needed the cap. I like that pickup for you and am excited to see how your team does this year.

Wild and Blues hook up
Team: Minnesota Wild
- Buium, Shai (D) AHL
- Del Bel Belluz, Luca (C) AHL
- Neuchev, Viktor (LW) AHL
Team: St. Louis Blues
- Buchnevich, Pavel (LW) NHL
Blues cover 75% of Buch's salary for this year.
For the Wild we really needed to shore up our forward group, and were not confident we could do that in free agency, absent a massive overpay.
Thanks to Rumy for the fun back and forth.

Blues don't believe we can effectively restock a contending team from the UFAs availalbe, so we are pivoting to a rebuild. Moving on from Buch is the first of many moves to come...
Thanks Grant for the patience in getting this deal done.

Wild trade Riley Heidt and Vojtec Hradec for Oliver Bjorkstrand, cap and a 2nd
We are looking for one more high 60s/low 70s forward

Good trade for Minny. Heidt didn't even make his top 26 prospect list!
The 4.25 cap is pretty valuable at the moment.

I am gonna be the whistle blower. Jiri comes to you and tells you what the trade is going to be and if you don't do it he will kick you from the league. True story, totally real.
That's a solid trade. Man is cooking this off season.

so that's why you traded Byram. Makes sense.

I would say that Riley Heidt is worth more than a 2nd for sure. 2023 draft was deep. Kid has star potential and should get a spot once the Wild trade Rossi. Wild prospect pool is ranked 2nd and he's there #1 C prospect.

Although I don't disagree, I don't think the gap between a 2nd and Heidt is a 71OVR player that you are paying to not play on your team on a reasonable expiring contract.
I could easily see you being able to trade him for a player like Heidt alone at the deadline let alone adding a 2nd to him.

I think I could have got a 2nd, but I really doubt I would have got a prospect like Heidt at the deadline.
He's easily worth a 2nd and trending in the right direction. I could have looked to add another 2nd for just Bjorkstrand and cheese, but I have quite a few picks. So, I would rather have the player that could have a massive increase in value sooner than later.
Also, huge issue is there is half of the league that does not have anyone Heidt good and most the top teams already have 9 forwards 70+. Not many GMs will trade a top prospect for a 3rd/4th liner even with the cheese, especially the asset rich teams that also have stacked roster.
The asset poor teams always seem to have no picks or prosects to trade, I'd rather not wait and potentially hurt a top team as no way Jiri signs Bjorkstrand next summer, so he got a 2nd that probably is years away from making the league.
