The rumour I keep hearing is that the next release is going to be a GH2 version 2 kinda thing, with the theme being all 80s songs. Will they cover the whole 80's spectrum with new wave, pop, etc or will it be a mullet-fest with maiden, priest, motley crue, scorpions, ratt, and all the rest?

From red-octane's site, April 9th: "Guitar Hero 3 for the Playstation 2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii are currently scheduled for release in the United States in Fall of 2007."

and in an interview with their president , an interesting read: ( http://ps2.ign.com/articles/780/780827p1.html )

"We are currently working on Guitar Hero III for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii and I can assure fans that what we are working on for Guitar Hero is taking the series to a whole new level. There will be online play, more downloadable music and features that make the offline multiplayer better."

I cant wait. A torrent site i go to has a guy who is creating his own hack of GH and it looks pretty cool. Here's a preview of his work and potential songs http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=Vegz0rz I have a hack that I play right now with songs from Metallica, Zepplin, Disturbed...64 songs in all. It's not bad, a rough version, but holds you over till the new ones come out.

I wish I could master the 5th button; i can get through some of the songs but just by the hair of my gonads. Addicting stuff, this stupid game.

i think its on a few torrent sites out there. i got mine from an membership-style site. these ones arent done in all skill levels, but his version of expert isnt necessarily that hard, and some easy's are a little tough. the negatives are when you miss a chord, the guitar doesnt stop, just gets quieter, and you cant play in career mode, just multiplayer and quickplay.

the one being worked on now is exclusive to the site i go to and looks like its going to be pretty professional.

this is the song list for the current one, so if you see this out there, you know its a working copy.

yah...its tough all over. i can't find it up north either.

rumours abound though about the whammy bar...apparently it is causing major grief for some people.

so red octane patched the whammy bar via xbox live and bricked a whole bunch of 360s. ooops! better get some more of those QA guys!
