Yankees bullpen once again just rolling over and dying after their offense claws them back.

Excellent from Estrada, that's the sort of surprise the Jays need as far as depth.
Throw by Barger in the first saved a run and then he knocks it in.
Springer took more then a few seasons to live up to his billing and ability, so they took is nice to see and can't be wasted.
This run is putting pressure on Atkins to make the right deals. He's scraped by the last two offseasons somewhat inexplicably, maintaining his job, so he has to navigate this next month and the trade deadline properly.

Back-to-back sweep while both the Yankees and Rays finally start slumping would be a wonderful way to close in on the All-Star break.

Looks like the Jays might have something in Estrada possibly. That'd be nice when you have a look at all the other arms coming up the system right now.

Burr activated from IL
Giminez put on 10 day IL
Loperfido called up
Estrada optioned to AAA
Robertson DFA to make room for Burr
I hope nobody claims Robertson. Dude can rake and could pop like Barger at any time IMO

So many props to Estrada. That was a fantastic effort in such a high leverage spot. I’m sure that people will question him being down after yesterday but the team really needed Burr’s fresh arm. I’m sure Estrada will be back at some point…he could end up being a really valuable “6th starter”/long relief guy for us. We could really, really use a bulk innings guy.
I miss the September call up period when you could reward guys like Estrada and other young guys who have upped their games in the minors.
