Default XBOX with Massive Layoffs
Large layoffs across the board with Microsoft and XBOX today.

It looks like The Initiative, a studio working on Perfect Dark, has been closed and the game cancelled.

Other Games cancelled so far by XBOX today are Rare's Everwild and a new MMORPG that Zenimax was working on.

It's only halfway through the day so there could be more announcements coming.

That sucks.

EDIT: I can't believe that they've let Phil Spencer drive this into the ground for so long. Wild. It's not like you can remotely blame Don Mattrick anymore.

Employee morale in tech is at an all-time low. It is incredibly depressing the way they've been doing this across the company, I lost a few good partner PMs I worked with in the May RIF.

When was the last time we did a GOTY thread? Quick search shows 2020 but that doesn't feel right.

I'm looking to get into something new - might try Expedition 33. But there's lots of oldie goodies I haven't played because I only recently replaced my ancient rig. So looking for ideas.

Yeah. When I saw that I was thinking about going. But I don't like FF music THAT much. It does seem like an interesting multi-media concert, but...it's about twice as expensive as I'm willing to pay (even for the cheapest seats).

I remember going to the video game concerts, they were lots of fun and they weren't that expensive (or at least I don't remember them being) and there was always lots of kids and cosplay and stuff.

I guess that age demographic is older and has more disposable income so they can charge more to target those ppl?
