What a fun game to watch, pick 6s are fun, winning is fun!
Not even mad that DD lost a challenge on a non challenge able call.

Just got back from the game.

First of all: winning is fun. My kids are just old enough to go to football games now, and last year I took them to several duds. You know what I mean... Last year sucked. This game (and the home opener) were great, because... surprise, surprise, this team can actually play exciting football. They might be hooked. You're welcome, CFL.

The crowd was ok... the concept of the Stampede Bowl is great, but this city still has PTSD from the last couple years. I don't blame them for not showing up.

But I give CSEC credit for trying. I think this could catch on.

I wasn't wrong about the halftime audio being crap. But Bret Michaels was a great choice. Thank God they didn't pick some half-rate, Canadian country "rising star". Dude understood the event, worked it into his show, and just f'n rocked it. I wouldn't be surprised if his band was partying in the locker room with the boys right now. I mean... he probably isn't, but he made me belive that he might. Best halftime concert I've seen at McMahon

The CFL is a QB league.

When you have a good reliable QB you win. When you don’t you lose.

Pretty much that simple. Oh yeah and the broadcasts have too many commercials. This isn’t the NFL… cut it down… it’s unwatchable.

I like that they are trying some.new things to help get people back in the seats but the best way to do it is win. Have a winning team that plays exciting football.

I don't think anyone saw that game coming. On offense a couple of big throws but it was really about Mills pounding the ground. Defensively they looked shaky against the run but they didn't let Collaros best them with the big play down the field.

Good atmosphere where we were sitting, minus all the Winnipeg fans with cowbells. Bret Michaels was really good, he entertained the crowd. They really need speakers at the north end, I think that would help the sound a lot.

Props to ownership for trying something different with the Stampede bowl and bringing in a legit talent for the halftime show rather than some ho-hum Canadian act that a lot of people either don't know or have seen hundreds of times before at the Stampede and small venues. Would have been kind of awkward had the Bombers won though with the whole trophy ceremony. Most importantly the fans left the stadium entertained which is something that you couldn't say about the product for the past few years.

Also it's nice to see the deep ball return to Stampeders football and CFL football in particular as to me the game has morphed in recent years into a dink and dunk league and the Stamps under Maier in particular were one of the worst offenders. I advise anyone to go back and watch some video highlights of the Stamps in the days of Burris, Rambo, Copeland, Lewis when the deep ball was a regular occurance and an exciting one at that. Adams showing why he was shrewd pickup as he's exactly the type of QB that should excel in the CFL with his mobility and ability to throw the ball deep.

They mentioned it on the broadcast last night, but I didn't hear Willie Jefferson's name at all during the game. VA is adept with his legs giving himself more time to find receivers, but the Stamps O-line provided some fine protection for Vernon last night.

Its been a long time since we've seen a really dominant in all aspects in by the Stamps. I have to admit, their defence and especially their secondary is a surprise this season and I'm excited to see what Bighill brings to the table.

The offence was excellent in the first half, it was still ok in the second half, but when you have a big lead it becomes about managing the offence and the clock more then scoring, but I would have liked to have seen more.

I heard from a friend that Brett Michaels was excellent and put on a good show as well.

Well done to the Stampeders for the first time in a long time.

What a fantastic effort by the stampeders organization, full credit to yesterday. Bighill and begelton signing autographs out front before the game was a nice touch, too. They were genuine and happy to be interacting with fans.

It was announced around 22500 fans, and I'd say 18000 stayed for Brett michaels at half time, you could tell it was a genuine hit with the fans. They obviously didn't have a huge budget for a half time act but they nailed the choice with what they had. He knew exactly how to fire up a football crowd and make a good experience.

There's one thing that's very obvious in pricing failures. There's renewed interest, but its the corner sections at $35-$50 that are selling out as fans look to come out again.

The middle five red seat sections on both sides are the best seats and should be the first to fill up, instead its mostly a see of red empty seats right in the middle mid to upper rows. They all list at $130-$170. That's like Flames prime seating prices in the centre, second tier at the Dome. Absurd prices for a Canadian football game, especially in that old stadium.

Lower those to $60-$80 and you could attempt to start to build a fan base back with this great team.

The days of 30000+ days are likely gone, but i still see a path to 25-27k regular attendance, if they care enough to try.

In our decade of dominance our defences was always tops. I see that with this group.

Obviously QB play drives the team but defence in football wins championships.
