Great game. But the Apple TV broadcast was so frustrating. Just now I wanted to see how the bottom of the 10th set up (I had stepped away for a bit) and they stopped showing the highlights after the top of the 10th. Like, what?

Apple is so hit or miss. I've watched some that are great... and then I've watched some that have been absolutely awful

Yeah terrible time for a stupid apple game after the last series and the excitement building.
Rays and Yankees lose.

The Jays had so many reasons to simply write this game off and I think the fans would have understood - no Vlad, burned out bullpen, fifth starter, Gimenez injury, blown lead in after being up 3-0, mental letdown after a big series - and they still pulled it off. Very impressive.

Do the jays even want santander to get healthy? See he’s on the 60 day IL, so nit a big risk right now.
They probably could use Varsho though.
Gonna need to keep gritting out wins, can’t imagine how fatigued the bullpen is getting. 5 more days of games and then finally a one day break, a series and then the all star break.

I would love a healthy, 120 wRc+ Santander in the DH spot smashing bombs. Don't want the 60 wRc+ version though. He can go pound sand.

I think they've got to be close to calling up someone like an Easton Lucas to piggyback a game and give everyone else the day off.

This is a weird situation right now with the Jays pitching.
They have 5 good starting pitchers. They have 0 great starting pitchers. Plus Lauer and Scherzer are complete wild cards at the moment. And at some point this year Francis and Manoah will he back and what are they? They've both had putrid stretches in MLB but they've also both had elite stretches in MLB.
You feel like they should add a SP but unless it's an Ace are you really improving the rotation?

And then with the bullpen, Hoffman is elite when he's on, but he's some bad games that really skew the numbers in a bad way. Do you bring in a closer and demote him?
Yariel had looked solid as the 8th inning setup guy.
They just got Yimi back as the 7th inning guy, but he's battled injuries lately and is older, is he reliable?
Green has struggled, but he's been better lately and is a very experienced guy who you may not want to cast away just yet.
Little is the only lefty and has been one of the best relievers all year.
Fisher has been the best and most consistent reliever all year.
Sandlin just got back from injury and has a solid track record.
Fluharty has struggled for awhile and finally got sent down.
The pen has been pretty good, but some of the best guys they've had this season don't have long track records of being elite, and some the more established guys have been battling injury or their performance has fluctuated quite a bit.
Seems like the smart move would be to go out and get one or two high leverage arms if you can find them. But relievers are so finicky you might trade for a proven stud and end up with a complete lemon. IE you might get Brad Hand. Dude was a stud, came to the jays and blew games left, right and center. Then left in the off season and went back to being a stud immediately.

As for bats, I don't think they need to add much here. Especially with Babe Schneider looking like he might have made some adjustments.
They should get Varsho back, Santander will hopefully come back healthy, and Vlad still hasn't really turned it on yet with the bat.
Offense has been amazing and IMO they'd still have more room for improvement.

Bats are hot right. They will cool. I think vlad has more to give though .... depth in triple a is pushing guys like schneider Martinez loperifdo close lukes etc to better its nice. Can move depth to acquire.
Estrada called... kind of wild... might work in BP
Few more of these types in triple a. Jennings bash we have some depth

That was one of the worst first pitch missed calls I’ve seen in that at bat in the first. Middle of the zone gets called a ball and eventually walks that guys for a run.

I had to log in to acknowledge this. The announcers didn’t even bat an eyelash. Usually they make a lighthearted remark. Just crickets. This was like the scene from Naked Gun when he had to stall the game.

Scherzer scuffling in the first and third is driving up that pitch count and the pen needs some rest.
