They are a band of misfits to be sure, but Keystone XL isn't entirely dead money yet. Although nothing Trump says is to be believed, so you may ultimately be correct.

Yes it is.
There is no world world where any company in Canada is going to put the money up to build KXL.

Trump's word isn't worth a thing.
No company is going to put the money up to even look at this project because you can be certain one of the following will happen:

1) Trump flips and the line isn't approved
2) It takes too long to get started and approvals get cancelled....again
3) Trump goes nuts on tariffs again, and no producer in Canada is keen to sign up for more export to the US right now

The only shocking thing is that he waited this long to bring it up after the resounding success Ford has achieved. He's doesn't hate bike lanes on an intellectual level, these people are not thinkers, they are instinctually offended by anything that doesn't feel like something their team would support, and the will repeatedly make dumb choices, they cut off their nose to spite their face as long as they are signaling that they hate liberal ideas.

This isn't even a comment on if the bike lanes are a good idea or not, it's just there is 0 chance this guy has even contemplated bike lanes beyond the depth that allowing them sounds like not owning the libs, there for without looking into numbers, facts, or analysis of any kind they are bad.
