There is a push to switch Tavares to wing because of his foot speed. They also want to be able to sit players due to injury through the season and still make the playoffs. They could do that when they had a point machine like Marner but, without him, they need more depth.

Is Naz fast? He's one of my favourite players but even when he was a Leaf he wasn't quick. I'd imagine he's even slower now.
I don't think the Leafs want any more big contracts for this upcoming season. They want to make it clear to McDavid that money will be available if he wants to come. I doubt he does but using that cap on Kadri plus giving up the returns being talked about on here would be a shocker.

I agree they will want to save cap for McDavid. So any trade with Toronto likely means taking equivalent salary back. That’s why most trade proposals have players like Laughton or Domi coming back.

Yeah. Sec mentioned they he would look into the LA deal to see if he could get some more info on it. Not sure if that worked out and he has any info to share with us yet. I’m wondering if it included more than one first round pick.
