Oilers fans at work aren't happy about this one. Apparently they need a goalie, not a crappy defenceman who gets assists playing McDavid and Drai. I'm somewhat awestruck at the self awareness.

Ya the usually die hard fans are pretty somber these days. I asked one tier 1 fan what the Oilers are doing and he said "chasing McDavid away by the looks of it". I'm surprised their media isn't being called out for lauding all these signings.
Bouchard was the obvious choice to trade and reshape their roster. Would've netted them a haul, probably including a Bouchard replacement and a goalie.

There's really no point in calling out the Edmonton sports media since they are bought and paid for. Even my buddies that are Oilers fans know this.

By the end of next season, somehow Oiler fans are going to hate Bouchard's contract more then Nurses.
Lets see if Bouchard crumbles under the pressure like he crumbles when he has to play defence.

I imagine McDavid isn’t the only player looking at how bleak the Oilers prospect base is and how their window is rapidly closing. He may want to go to a winning team when this contract expires.
