Icon42 Blues put Leddy on waivers. Claimed by Sharks

per Friedman

one year at $4 mil cap hit left.

wonder if this is an attempt to move him to a team that is not on his 16 team trade list (e.g Buffalo?)

Hopefully the Flames have an opportunity to weaponize cap space for once.

I would grab him. Another UFA the Flames can trade at the deadline for draft picks. I doubt he would take away ice time from anyone on the Wranglers. If you can’t beat out one of Hanley, Bean, Miromanov or Pachal you’re either not ready to make the jump or not good enough to be anything more than an NHL/AHL tweener.

Easy claim.
LHD with zero acquisition cost.
Easy flip at the TDL.

Pittsburgh might claim him. More than half there roster are on expiring deals and they have cap space and room on defense to add him. They are probably going to be huge players at the TDL and are probably looking at pump and dumps.

The reason he is on waivers is he sucks. Let him clear.

Thought that the greasey piggies would have an interest but then I remembered that their blue line already has multiple Norris winners on it and they don’t need defence; athletic rated them a+ 99 percentile! Plus salary cap.

I believe that combined with Orlov signing gets the Sharks above the cap floor

And it's a pretty significant upgrade on their current stable of Defensemen.
