So Rasmus will be sticking around until the trade deadline. Bringing a soap opera until them

Funny to see that some things don't change.
The beginning of the end for me was Kyle Quincey. Wings let him walk so they would have room for geriatric Chris Chelios. Then, once Quincey developed into a serviceable top 4 guy, they trade a 1st rounder to get him back. Who ended up getting picked with that 1st round pick? Andrei Vasilevsky!

The end of the end for me was Dan Cleary. Their insistence on bringing him back every summer was infuriating. That along with moving to Oklahoma and Jim Nill taking over the Stars is what gave me the motivation to change fandoms.

Ken Holland was so extremely overrated.

What makes you say that?

I think he's gone very soon, and almost surely before training camp starts.

The Flames should find a way to trade with LAK before Holland gets fired

I am ok with this. Rasnmus needs to bring his best to maximize his next contract.

Did Ceci abduct Holland's kids and ransom them?

Ceci at $4.5mil AAV for 4 years is one of the worst contracts this league has ever seen. It will appear less so because the dollars aren't huge compared to "infamous" deals that typically involve perceived star players. But that is a replacement level player.

Still not as bad as Trent Frederic for eight years… but yeah, that is one stinker of a deal for L.A.

I've been saying for some time that Jimmy Devellano was the architect of that team. He built the staff and the management system that helped them find stars late in the draft and develop them to perfection. Ken Holland lived in the house that Jimmy D built… and when the house started to need serious maintenance work, Holland didn't know how to do it.

Dumo's contract makes sense. He's a budget replacement for Gavrikov and can play those heavy minutes.

Ceci's contract is completely mindbottling.

Off topic but I just noticed that the Kings are still paying Mike Richards buyout of $600,000 each year.

We need to change Bobby Bonilla day to Bobby Bonila and Mike Richards Day.
