The recipients were literally wearing the caps while telling me the mysterious story of how they got them. They also told me they were still asking around to figure out who gifted them the caps... but after telling me the story, didn't think to ask me if I knew anything about the caps.
Another close family friend did quickly figure out it was me. I said they could be the one to do the big reveal, but in the end, they decided it'll be more fun to let the mystery ride out as long as it can.

Gifting your friends/family some whimsical fun and mystery is pretty much the raddest thing I'll read on the internet all weekend, I'm sure. Nice work, dude!

I don't want to reveal too much until the mystery is solved, but in essence, it's a cap in team colors so the captains are easier to identify when we compete.

Back around late January I had some blood tests done and they showed I was borderline Type 2 Diabetes. My blood glucose levels were 6.6 and my doctor warned me I had to lose some weight and make changes to my diet and lifestyle. He sent off to a NP who gave me a guideline of foods I could and couldn't eat. I was also 206lbs at the time and increased my level of exercise.
My life style changes worked and I recently got my blood glucose levels done to a 6.2 back in May. On top of that I managed to lose 14lbs, bringing my weight down to 192lbs. I also brought my waist size down from 38 to 36 inches.

Great job!
I've been on a health journey myself.
Markers were fine but dropped over 35 lbs (200 to 163 currently) this year and getting close to having a flat stomach for the first time in 30+ years.
Having to buy new clothes is both fantastic and expensive

For the past eleven years, me and my kids have baked a cake on Canada Day. They're into their teens now so I really didn't expect them to want to do it this year, but they were insistent on it. And were equally insistent that I participate too. Tradition and fun win out over teen cynicism.

Hah I’m basically in the same boat, I was 195 before, dropped to 165lbs and since then hit around 175 but with a way better body fat %. Now ive got a goal of doing a 225lb bench press after 1 year of working out (7 more months to go). Not sure I’ll hit that but I’m gonna try.

That's awesome.
I'm still cutting for another month or two, then will go into a rebuild phase and increase calories.
Will see if I can get strength like that too; never had a big bench.
Keep it up!

You too, are you keeping track of your macros really closely? I’ve been pretty loose with my tracking but between the diet and exercise I’m about where I want to be weight wise for now.
Oh I’m not anywhere close to that on the bench yet lol, we’ll see if I can get there, 60lbs in 7 months will be a lot to add.
I struggle with squats, been dealing with a bit of pain at the top of the squat when the hips hinge forward. That’s made it tough to get any progress as weight just increases the pain.

I've been quietly working on losing weight as well. It's been one hell of a battle (I put on weight just LOOKING at food, it feels like).
Last night, I finally, after nearly a year of yo-yo'ing in my plateau, broke through and hit the -30lb mark from my starting point.

Myfitnesspal was a great app for keeping track, since they had a huge library of foods so you didn’t have to go through the hassle of creating your own from scratch. It was a really easy way of tracking all your intake.

My buddy told me to scale back a lot of what I was doing until I go to an expert to figure out my back pain, body clicks and migraines. He thinks a few exercises I've been doing might be amplifying my issues with pain and discomfort. He gets what I'm doing for the silly tai chi warm up exercises, and recommended I chat with her to confirm it works but also what else to add to perhaps speed up/amp up the range of motion recovery.
It kinda sucks to hear I have to scale back, but the logic makes sense. One step back for a few steps forward. Dumb things like using the skipping rope can create random joint pain for me. the anticipation of properly fixing and getting rid of some of these issues makes me happy though. If you're being held back by pain, maybe talk to some physios and get some assessments to see if you need to fix something before/so that you can push further?

I'm meal prepping and tracking them precisely. I eat the same thing pretty much every day, with some allowance for life to get in the way.
I signed up for online coaching mid Feb and they have me dialed in on calories, protein intake, how many workouts per week, how much cardio, steps per day, the works.
Weekly check in and measurements, online community group with others in the program.
I was consistently in the gym for years but never really making any significant changes, this is the first thing that has really worked.
Goal is to get down to about 10% body fat, 6 pack and then reverse diet, increase calories while maintaining a lean physique and build more muscle.
Getting quality coaching has been a game changer.

Wow for a guy who didn't post much in here, he sure was memorable. Must have been his deplorable avatar. Like Mel Bridgeman's....
