Well, Oilers are a very experienced team at screwing things up. Guess this means that they are elite at finding a way out of it. Stupid Bruins!

good gamble for Boston. Effectively costs you nothing, but if you can rebuild his numbers a bit, he might be worth a higher pick at the deadline. People will lament helping the Oilers, but that's a sensible move for Boston. Might pay off.

They better not be able to sign Boeser with this cap space.

Arvidsson is a huge reason the Oilers lost Holloway and Broberg and was a non-factor in his one year there. Too bad the Oilers were able to dump 10M in cap space and got a couple of late picks.

Meh deal but for the love of god, teams know that the Oilers are up against it and scrambling to try and make their stupidly assembled roster work, right?
They should be holding the Oilers over a barrel in deals like this.

Boeser doesn't move the needle anyways. They need defence.

Draisaitl gets a $5.5M raise and Bouchard gets a $6.6M raise. That is more than Kane+Arvidsson’s cap hits.

A few more 15-17 year old kids are hitting the ice and gym today with this news, making sure they move up past the 5th round.

This is what I don't get. Sure, take that crap off their hands, but make them pay. That you have to give them anything is no good

wouldn't be ideal but I'm just kinda hoping any Boeser deal is Skinner redux with more cap and term- Boeser younger yes- but the 2 years Skinner had pre signing with Oil look a bit like Boeser's last 2

Another of the players the Oilers signed to add forward depth is shipped out a year later to be replaced by a new crop of players to fill out the forward ranks?

Man, Vancouver and Boston really bailed the Oilers out. They have just over 4 mil in cap space now to sign 2 forwards to fill out their roster. It's not the kind of money that will allow them to get much better, but if Kane and Arvidsson can't be moved they would be like 5 million over the cap.
Just makes it hurt that much more that Treliving the ####ing moron had to give up a 1st to move Monahan

CapWages has them at 7.6 million in cap space, but they need 4 more forward slots to fill - unless they expect Savoie or O'Reilly to fill one of them, then it's more like 6.6 million for 3 forward slots.
But yeah, Van and Boston really threw them massive life preservers when they easily could've thrown them an anchor

It’s almost like GMs are looking to improve their teams and keep their jobs vs screwing the Oilers over
Crazy concept
