GMP wins another tie-break over Fritz and now leads 2 sets to love.

GMP was up 5-1 in the 4th set tie-break...Fritz wins it 8-6 and forces a 5th and deciding set.

The dumb Wimbledon curfew might bring a halt to this match.
Edit: Yup, we're coming back tomorrow. That's a break for GMP as Fritz had all the momentum.

Shapo is one and done at Wimbledon. When you're losing to Navone on grass, it's not good.

Big upsets on the ladies side today as both Pegula and Qinwen were sent packing earlier today.

Victoria takes the opening set 6-3. Playing some excellent tennis in that first set.

By the way, Fritz did end up defeating GMP and thus Gabriel will be taking on the American in round 2. That will be very tough.

Victoria into round 2 with a 6-3 6-2 win over Magdelena Frech. As often happens, getting the LL spot was actually an easier match than if she would have won her final qualification match as Priscilla Hon who beat Victoria lost to Alexandrova earlier today in straight sets.

Three days ago...
"I had a fairly good preparation. I played a final, I played a semifinal, I worked in those tournaments as well. People forget that I'm still the number 3 in the world and that I'm number 3 in contention. I've had some losses here and there, which were normal, perhaps unexpected.
In general, I think I have regained form in recent weeks or months. I'm looking forward to Wimbledon, I think I can play well here," Zverev said in a press conference.

Leylah loses to Laura Siegemund in straight sets only managing to win five games. Outside the top 30 in the live rankings now and unless she improves her serve, I can't see it climbing anytime soon. She will never have a powerful serve, but it's not at the point where she's just trying to put it in the service box to start the point. It makes it way too easy for her opponent to gain an advantage.

There goes another seed on the men's side as Norrie just eliminated Tiafoe.
