I'd wager if the offer was truly a "blow your socks off" offer like this guy is claiming it was then if I were Craig I would be doing everything in my power to try and convince Rasmus to go to L.A.

Clarke and a 1st would have been a crazy return. Byfield even more of a crazy return. Not saying it couldn’t have been possible but I could see something like Greentree + 2026 1st (top 10 protected) + 2027 1st (top 10 protected) be considered to be a whopper of a return.

Man, compared to literally any other Canadian fanbase, this thread is unbelievably tame.

I don't see all caps posts. I don't see posters calling for people to be fired.

I see people who are communicating that they are disappointed in what seems to be a common result for this organization.

If Anderson makes it known that he’ll only sign an extension with Vegas isn’t there tampering from the players end? Vegas deliberately starts trade talks to let the player know they want him. Trade talks don’t go anywhere because they deliberately offer garbage in return. But the damage is done! Now the players let it slip that they will only extend in Vegas. Blatant tampering disguised as trade talks. I can see why Toronto is pissed off and now the Flames are too.

I would find it surprising that he wouldn’t be interested in Carolina. They compete and he would be top dog at RD for a while there.

I wonder if Dougie would come back now that the anti-museum crew isn’t here any more. Maybe a straight swap for Dougie would be doable if he was interested in NJ.

This isn't a surprise, he's been pretty open when sharing he wants to play for a contender not a bottom feeder nor a bubble team.

So saying he'll only sign with VGK is a bit "click bait" if you will, as there's a plethora of teams he would sign with but only teams who are making play off pushes pretty consistently, so that narrows it down.

Of the teams who have put out strong offers contingent on him re-signing then yes VGK is the only team, because Rasmus is not signing an extension in Ottawa, or Buffalo or Columbus. I think he would consider L.A but he's since taken a page out of Hanifin's book and now wants to try and leverage his willingness to sign an extension by saying only VGK. There's been other teams that have interest, I know Florida considered it for a while but the money can't be found now with extensions to Bennett and likely Marchand.

Calgary needs to shut this #### down immediately.
VGK has very little to offer in futures that is really going to be impactful.
1st round picks... very late ones, their prospect pool is very weak.

So Craig needs to stand firm and if Rasmus wants to be an idiot about it, when they were both on pretty good terms then I agree, we leverage him as a rental at the deadline and say F U to VGK.

To add to this as I posted on draft day that an Andersson trade was not happening as teams weren't meeting ask. It's now become very clear as to why. It's a combination. He won't go to the teams that would meet it. I reached out to the same person and was told the situation is accurately "bad". The player has hijacked the entire situation....which makes me think the leaks are coming from his agent.

I mean you can't have an extension as part of a trade if the Flames don't let the other team talk to Rasmus. Obviously, a little grey area communication going on in order to facilitate a deal
