Honestly, what Vegas can offer with an Andersson extension is probably not much more than what another team can offer at the deadline as a rental. Plus we are helping Vegas get better. Not looking forward to a trade with Vegas. At this point, would rather go into the season with him and see what happens.

It's starting to look like nobody was overreacting on here about this situation. Two weeks ago it seemed like we'd get a great return on Andersson. Now it's Vegas with an extension or hoping someone still wants him as a rental

Yup, this is remarkably concerning. Feels like it would've been incredibly easy to auction him off a year ago when extension talks wouldn't even be part of the equation. All the talk about doing right by the players and ticking off the box of token extension talks for respect purposes only for those players to turn around and screw CGY at every turn. Big time opportunity cost manifesting here.
