Sounds like Vegas running around trying to get something for nothing

Andersson is definitely using a page from Hanifin's agent playbook. It's his right not to commit to signing, but I wouldn't make such a deal with VGK again, unless it's a massive overpay to makeup for the Hanifin return.

Another off-season where the biggest news isn't all fine young players they drafted, but rather the Flames next veteran player sell-off.

With how this team competes in the NHL - zero cynicism, nice instead of ruthless, always try to win, just make the playoffs - GMCC is in a position where he needs a slam dunk Ras trade to get a #1c or lots of good assets. It's a ####ty spot to be in because few if any teams seem to share the Flames' approach - so we are getting passed by other rebuilds as top teams close out their contention windows and begin to tank. Most teams understand that to get elite talent, to sell lots of merch/sweaters, to matter outside of your local market, you need star players.

Maybe it's because Flames recently had a bunch of stars, and this memory has not faded yet, but they seem to be ignoring this important fact.

They sure do seem to be in limbo land. I can easily imagine a scenario where 4-5 years from now Flames are still a 15-20 team and Wolf and Parekh get to FA ASAP with their contracts so that they can get out of here.

It's not a complaint, just an observation.

Hard to call something that hasn't happened yet an observation.

On the one hand, the Rasmus Andersson may be a distraction. But on the other, a major player is due for an extension on an annual basis. It's not really an excusable distraction. The players just needs to have the poise to deal with it.

Getting this done at the draft would have been great. Prior to training camp would also work. But the combination of Anderson having a good start to the season and a contending team out there needing a shake up could be a recipe for a big return during the season.

I don’t think it’ll be much of a distraction in Calgary if he’s playing well. He seems like a pretty good team guy. It’s not like we’re a contender under crazy pressure to be fighting for the division or presidents trophy.

Vegas will probably try to sign Ekblad along with Marner on July 1st

At least we can maybe trade Ras to Florida then.

I hate Vegas for oh so many reasons

They entered the league and had a great team in our division just when we were looking on our way up

Beat us out on acquiring Mark Stone (I believe would have been enough to push through Makar and Colorado)

Beat us out on Eichel

M A Fleury Vezina season and jettison him off

Every time I hear a sports gambling ad, yea I blame Vegas

I hope they implode one day
