Getting Mews in the 70s last year compared to who was available this year really shows how bad this draft this

Sounds like this player has a lot of talent in defending and making a first pass. I am good with this pick. You need size. People love to say it is a new trend now that "Team X" won the cup with a heavy team, but it happens almost every year.
Hope he proves the doubters wrong, but more importantly, I hope he works hard to prove Conroy and the scouting department right.

Size, but can skate and make a first pass. Might be a nice compliment down the road for our offensive backend guys.

All the champs have had some form of size backend or forwards. Pittsburgh might be the only smaller team.
But can’t take size for the sake of size.

So fire a scout minutes after you made a pick...they obviously agreed with the pick their list is made together.
it was an incredibly stupid post, yes not all draft picks work out...especially after the first round. In fact most don't.
Calling for someone to be fired right after a pick might be the dumb over reaction of dumb over reactions

Calling for someone to be fired lol

It's hyperbole, i want talent in round 3 not size. Scouts who advocate for size that early the draft should be ignored.

I think I'm a little disappointed in this pick mainly because the Habs selected Bryce Pickford with the immediate pick after this one and Pickford had an incredible playoffs for the Medicine Hat Tigers playing an instrumental role in leading them to the WHL Championship.
Hopefully, Phillips will prove me wrong and Conroy right.

The whole organization comes up with the list...suggesting someone should be fired because you don't like a 3rd round pick is silly.

Armchair scouts should be ignored. None of us have a goddamn clue how these 18 year old players will develop. It’s a crap shoot after the top 25.

How do you pronounce his name? Mace-o? Macey-O?

Usually it's mass-ee-oh or mah-say-o, but that apostrophe in there might change things. I don't understand why the apostrophe is there.

Yeah, the apostrophe is messing me up too.
