yeah he's digging his way up. believe he's around the bottom 10
Bob Steward who played the bulk of his career with the Golden Seals I think is at the bottom, former Flame Don Lever (who toiled with the post expansion Canucks and later the Rockies/Mickey mouse era Devils ) is right up (down?) there

That doesn't make it a D heavy market, especially on the right side.
- Karlsson (RD) is very talented but he is 35 and has a big cap hit and has a full NMC
- Rielly (LD) - I don't believe he is actually on the trade block
- Ristolainen (RD) is a second pair guy at best, playing less minutes, less games, and maybe half Andersson's point production
- Byram (LD) has a lot of potential
- Oleksaik (LD) is more of a second/third pair guy
- Hague (LD) is more of a third liner
I don't think this changes the market at all. If you want a top pair RD you only have a couple of options and a lot of teams have depth issues on their right side D.
On July 1st, everyone can talk to the Flames about an Andersson trade with retention and contract extension. His only real competition is Ekblad, still.

That’s fair. Just sharing what he said as it made sense with other reports that the offers are not according to the ask from the Flames. I still think it should be done this summer for the best offer they get.

That's Tanner Jeannot. Sec previously noted Flames were interested in seeing if Jeannot was going to hit free agency, then it came out of LA that he was heading to free agency, then the original tweet came out, and now this response.

He won’t be top 9 in calgary and I’ve never heard of 7 goal scorers being in anyone’s top 9.
Pointless if true.

Those are very uninteresting teams.
The 2027 1sts would be the best assets they would offer. Greentree would be pretty sweet but he's another winger and I can't see LA moving him.

Brostewicz and next years first would be a decent return from the Kings.

Sign me up for a trade that involves the LA 2026 1st. I like the idea of 3 firsts in a deep 2026 draft, combined with beefing up a team the oilers might have to get through in the playoffs and likely improving our own draft position.

The offers are not surprising. The Flames were likely focused on trade talks with teams drafting in the top 10. It would have taken one of those teams to think that they needed RD upgrades over their draft pick.
Now that the interesting part of the draft is behind us, the conversation shifts to free agent frenzy. Once Ekblad is off the market, Andersson is the best available RD in both 2025 and 2026's UFA boards.
CapWages is built really well to look at this. Click on the POS column, filter to RD, and select the year.
2025 is Ekblad, Burns, Fabbro, Ceci, Schmidt
2026 is Andersson, Carlson, Trouba, Murphy, Liljegren (it also shows all of this years UFAs until they sign)
The only teams looking to sell right now are the Flames and Penguins and maybe the Flyers. The list of teams looking to add a #1RD is around 8-12 depending on which article you read.

Maybe I’ve missed something but I believe Utah and Columbus are or have been rumoured to be looking for a RH D. Believe both have their ‘26 1sts.

Last list I wrote down from Diss' post was:
Very interested: Jackets and Stars
Also interested: Ottawa, Detroit, Florida, Montreal, NYR, San Jose, Toronto, Utah, and Vegas
Ottawa and Montreal acquired RD and I think Florida is going to keep Ekblad. Still leaves 8 teams hunting for RD, although teams like the Leafs and Knights do not have much to offer the Flames.
