Hard not to be excited about how he delivered in the latter part of the season, including playoffs and tournaments. And a late birthday? 2 and 1/4 PPG in the playoffs. Juicy.

Respectfully I think you're picking on the wrong guy! We've had some pretty strong Debbie downers over the years, and people who complain to the point of polarizing the forum, or certain players I don't think you need to worry about Sandman.
Let's let this one go!

That the Flames got a Jarvis on the low end or a Point on the high end

Ha, I don't think using one of the greatest players to ever play the game as proof that 5'11" centres will make it as centres in the NHL is the slam dunk you thought it was.

People are passionate about the flames. We want to win it all before we die. I’d prefer someone like Zonnon over cole but I really like our scouting department. I think cole could be a top six center one day. I’m hoping as much.

I thought Sandman didn't have to defend himself, people know he's a quality character. I guess he was probably just surprised as anybody, to see the comments.

Maybe the Flames drafted their ‘Bear’ after all.

He looks like Terry Cahill if he cut his hair.

I think Barzal is a good comparable. Dropped in his draft year because he was considered undersized as well. But lit it up in the playoffs for the Thunderbirds. Also a pass first playmaker.

It's proof that you don't have to be taller than that in order to play centre in the NHL.

Yes, and my point was that using one of the top players to ever play the game is NOT proof of that. There's very few examples of 5'11" players being top line centers and citing Crosby does not prove what he thinks it proves.

For players with 10 games or more, Reschny's 2.27 ppg in the playoffs ranks 24th-best all-time.
....and he was 17.
Only Gavin McKenna had a better ppg in this season's playoffs, with 2.38.

Um… no. It IS proof of that. If being 5'11" made it impossible to play centre in the NHL, Crosby could not have done it.
And neither could Brayden Point, Nick Suzuki, Matt Duchene, Jake Guentzel, Jack Hughes, Seth Jarvis, Connor Bedard, or Mikael Granlund. That's nine of the top 32 scoring centres this past season, as listed by NHL.com, whose height is given as 5'11" or less.
