Believes it’s wide open after Schaefer.

Wouldn't surprise me if there's a deal or 2 mapped out contingent on a player being available at at certain pick. Not the Flames specifically but say the Islanders could have something in place assuming Hagens is there at a certain pick.

I would guess that almost every discussion around a Flames trade right now has some flavour of Andersson included. Pretty much all of the teams above us that may be willing to part with their pick need a RD upgrade (Sharks, Mammoth, Bruins, Sabres, Red Wings, Blue Jackets).
Heck, even the Islanders now need to upgrade their RD after moving out Dobson.

Looks good for both sides actually.

Agreed. I expect any Islanders move for Hagens will be a draft-floor thing if he's still available after 5.

any instance where the Flames move up with depend on who is available. I wonder who their guy is.
McQueen makes some sense since you could get him later in the top 10.

Some order of O'Brien, Martin, McQueen I'd think.
I hope it's that order myself but every scout could have them differently.

Really hope McQueen is off the board before the Flames pick or still on the board after they pick.

I think there needs to be an expectation reset here.
Andersson MIGHT return a first round pick. Not much more than that. If there's a larger package including prospect + current player then a first round pick is off the table.
Top 10 pick is laughable. I would say at best a later first round pick is to be had.
I wouldn't read too much into the Dobson valuation. MTL viewed him as a key component to their core and an elite piece moving forward.

Prices have been high on most of these trade (except Peterka, even if you believe in Kesselring.)

Which could also mean some team values Andersson as a key component to rounding out their core.
We'll see.

Kesselring and Dobson help with the evaluation. It means RHD are highly coveted around the league.

Anyone thinking Andersson is only returning a late first round pick is absolutely delusional.
If that was the case, every team in the league would be lining up for him.

I've probably been a flames fan longer than you. I have no interest in finding another team, but have lots of interest in watching this one win one day.
