Two former Flames assets that the Canadiens got for practically nothing.

Heineman traded 3 times and he is only 23. He is looking like a career throw-in .

16+17+Danny Nelson

If I were Utah that's the kid I would ask to be added

in any case, tidy work by the Habs. Adding Dobson without giving up Reinbacher or Mailloux is a no-brainer, and they can afford to sit out tonight after nailing a number of picks these past few drafts (Michael Hage, Jacob Fowler and so on). Could be a pretty sick D core in a couple of years with Hutson, Dobson, Reinbacher and Mailloux.

Seems like a great deal for Montreal to me. Dobson already has a 70 point season under his belt and he's a big all around d-man. This year's draft is supposed to be relatively weak a the mid-first round range. This gives Montreal a crazy defence to build around.

If they can figure out a way to stop F-ing up their forward drafting, they'll really have something going.

So with Mtl trading those 2 picks must mean they weren’t high on drafting Guy Carbonneaus son. Maybe an opportunity that he’s still available at 18…..

Sillinger is a center in the age range the Flames want and 14 + 18+ 32 likely gets them another 2 legit prospects. Would rather those than throwing 3 picks to get Hagens.

I hope the Islanders move up to like 7 and then Hagens goes at 6.

Yeah. Those equivalent calculators rarely work for top 10 picks. It works better - or at least you see trade equivalents for it - with picks outside the top half of the draft. Teams still value quality over quantity.

The Mammoth want a player to help them get into the playoffs now. Those picks won't get the job done.

They need a top 4 D upgrade.. their top 6 forwards look pretty solid after the Peterka trade.

Seems quite steep for the Habs, but Dobson and Hutson together for potentially the next decade must make the fans pretty excited.
