Building from LW out doesn't make a lot of sense. Especially when you're paying your top two (slow) LWs $10+M. The Flames still won't have a future 1C to play with either of them or a future 1C or 2C, even in their stable of prospects. How dependent are Robertson's numbers on having one of those?

How is this the way to build a contender one year into a retool/rebuild?

Robertson is an exciting player but Conroy should use that offer to get better bids out of other teams and walk away from the Stars. Unless Robertson+18OA can get the Flames to 2OA.
