Robertson is a a talent and would absolutely help this club, but I doubt he has interest in playing here. I'd only want to acquire him if it somehow was leveraged to then flip him to San Jose (he's a California boy after all) to SJ for the 2nd pick - but that is incredibly wishful thinking.
Imagine having the Misa brothers on this team for 10+ years. Good lord.

Parekh will be a huge upgrade to the PP and a huge upgrade on Bean.

LOL if that was the case he wouldn't be a guy that's coveted by a lot of teams right now. I got news for you; 24 minute per game defensemen in the NHL don't grow on trees and that doesn't even take into account his leadership intangibles. Crazy how fans are undervaluing Andersson's worth.

Maybe he means replaced easily by a "stopgap", but we will NOT have a high likelihood of making the playoffs without Andersson.

Robertson for Andersson is such a talent win for the Flames that they would almost have to do it if it was offered but it is not the best fit for Calgary considering this team has so many left shot wingers and is already paying one $10.5M

I agree but I still do it.
I posted the tweet from Bader that showed that players with this level of established production and age don't come available.
And when they do, the team that acquires them almost always is the clear winner. They can be game changers for teams.

Robertson is a high-end scorer entering his prime. Do not overthink it.

Like someone pointed out the flames weren’t terrible on the PP last year and he should provide a bit of a bump but 3v3 will be interesting to see his impact

Of course, inexperience and under par defensive ability can hurt you in OT as well. He may cause some nice breakaways - both ways.

On what could be a bargain contract with the cap rise.

Agreed. It’s the same as when people said the same about Hanifin. Whoever replaces Andersson is going to get caved.

If Robertson does become available in an Andersson trade, yeah it's an all-day everyday situation.
I'd like to see him get flipped (...I want Misa), but even if we kept and extended him? That's still a big W for Conroy.

Doubt he has interest playing here? Why? Played in Canada in the ohl. Brother plays in Canada. Fellow Californian Dustin wolf is on our roster. Joining a team on the upswing with lots of cap room that can afford to pay you. There are worse scenarios.
Unless you have specific intel about him not wanting to come, it’s baseless speculation.

That would top the Lindholm trade!

I personally just find it hard to believe the Flames could get Robertson just straight up for Andersson. The Flames likely would have to add. But crazier things have happened

Why would they have to add? Dallas is up against the cap and Rasmus is on a nice deal.

Kypreos saying leafs are shopping Nick Robertson. If we get Jason, do you bring in Nick to solidify keeping Jason in the fold long term. He’s no Freddie Hamilton, but at same time, wouldn’t hurt to be able to play with your brother (others may not be able to offer same). Nick isn’t ideal given he’s a winger and is smaller, but he’s serviceable and that could be our pitch to Jason to commit long term.

As a fellow Asian I would love Robertson to play here. However, if we can flip him for a top 3 pick, I’d do that any day of the week.
