and so on...
The F word appears 255 times. The C word only twice, on 1553 and 4264, a particularity fun one. Do parents know this kind of smutty language is available for their kids to see on government websites? That's shameful. Someone should do something. Is there a department for that?
Also, you can anonymously communicate to the government for all to read, and they don't seem to care to filter anything. Good to know.

Love 493, instead of Fing us, go F yourself. pretty much sums it up.
I'm thinking 1553 was a Vietnamese guy, they love calling everyone older than them uncle.
Worth noting the Government release that without announcement on a busy news day, hoping we wouldn't see it.
The word Trust is used 457 times, I read 79 of them and found 2 in a positive context, the remaining 77 were to the effect of "why the hell should I trust you with my money". I don't remember my response, but I'm sure trust was a key point I wanted to make, in that I don't trust them.
"Don't" 842
"Stop" 405
"move" 400
"Stupid" 198
"Leave it alone" 129 times
This is just scathing. but alas 52% of Albertans aren't even interested in know what's going on.

Smith is an embarrassment, as are her loser separatist buddies who keep pushing this idiotic nonsense. If you’re not happy in this country, then get the f*** out and go live somewhere else. I’ll come back to Alberta just to help them pack and I’ll gladly give them all a ride to the U.S. border if they want.

Any of y'all seen the surveys on this panel? First you have to watch a four minute film on the idea, and it's essentially propaganda for it. Then you get to answer two questions, which is where it gets insane.
First, you have to give postal code and full name, then you're hit with the first question
What aspect do you like most about an Alberta Police Service?
A- it would be accountable to Alberta, not Ottawa
B- we could organize it to better service our unique rural communities
C- Officers could establish rewarding careers in Alberta instead of temporary postings, which should improve recruitment and retention.
Thats it. No option to say none of the above, mandatory to answer if you want to go to the next question about cons. You know full well that the gov will now say X% of Albertans support this because it could serve our unique rural communities as proof to put it to referendum.

Hmm, surely they can do good with that right? Using 2b to pay debt is good, but how about re-paying some municipal commitments they bailed out of? Or finally build hospitals in Red Deer and Airdrie?
NAH, that'd be dumb, the UCP can use that money to continue underfunding everything and giving tax cuts to foreign corporations. Now that's the way. Got a problem with it? Blame Ottawa, right?

For what it's worth, I picked C, then I wrote a long note in the comments about the poor quality of date science they are engaging in by not giving people the chance to decline to answer, about how un-conservative it is of them to create all of this government bloat by duplicating existing institutions at a cost, and about how they would benefit with actually trying to grapple with the challenges others face rather than just hoping by gaining control they can fix it because it is foolhardy of them to think they would have an easier time recruiting people to rural areas, especially with a smaller pool of candidates.
A - I don't have a clear understanding of why it is preferable to have one or the other be the accountable
B - I don't believe they have any evidence they could improve the situation, other than some hand waving.
C - I do think it might be good if people had more opportunity to choose where they work, but I fear they will find that it is still very hard to fill some postings, and a little too easy to fill others. still gonna be way too hard to fill the Manning detachment, and your local boy from Calgary still isn't going to be excited about being pressured to move an 8 hour drive from home.

Aprreciate the effort, but I am a firm believer that all we'll see is:
#-3 believes this is a good idea because Officers could establish rewarding careers in Alberta instead of temporary postings, which should improve recruitment and retention.
It's dishonest, and I hate I'm surprised by it. I was genuinely encouraged by most members on the panel. Tombe is great, Bruce McDonald is cool, Adam Legge strikes me as pragmatic and then they gotta ruin it with the worst data science and survey i've seen. It's worse than a Company trying to determine corporate culture.
EDIT: Also on choosing C (which is what I would've done as well) is funny because it says "should". Like it's not even a guarantee it just might?

And that's in one of the most Conservative ridings in the province. If you choose to cater to that, you choose to abandon all logic and reason.
But it sure is good for grievance politics.

Maybe that's why I liked C, it was the most honest. "Should"

Some good news for the trans community here in Alberta courtesy of The Skipping Stone:
Quote:
Today, on June 27, 2025, Egale Canada and Skipping Stone are thrilled to share that the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta has granted our injunction request to block the Government of Alberta’s denial of gender-affirming care for gender diverse young people in the province from coming into effect.
|
Quote:
On the basis of expert evidence, the Court concluded that Bill 26 would cause irreparable harm to gender diverse young people in Alberta.
|
It was in an email I got from them, so no link.

Liars, incompetence, or both? Either way Albertans end up not getting the services their tax dollars pay for, but they know best.

Why not both?
While I think they absolutely wanted to underfund health and education, no one in that government has shown any sign they are competent.
