Crazy speculation regarding Darnell Nurse right now:
Bob Stauffer stated earlier that Oiler fans will “have something to talk about” soon. Since then, Darnell Nurse has turned off his IG comments and has removed ‘Oilers’ from his bio
Kane said on Canucks TV that he found out a couple days prior to the trade announcement that he was going to Vancouver. Maybe Nurse has been given the same heads up.

As exciting as it is to trade Andersson now for a 1st this year (and obviously more), I actually hope the trade happens shortly after the draft. Would much rather have another 2026 1st, or even a 2027. Much better drafts. Certainty vs unknown is an obvious factor, but even a first a handful of spots down next draft could result in a higher caliber of prospect.

The Mrtka interview today he said he had a last minute interview with Edmonton.

It would suck if a team let the pigs out of cap jail by taking Nurse. That contract should be unmovable.

And usually teams want to hold onto their picks this close to the draft. They've been scouting and meeting all year.
But for future drafts? Easier to part with those.

Just my hunch but if the Flames can leverage Andersson to get into the top 10, they’ll do it. If not, focus shifts to 2026.
