Thank god they overperformed this year and didn’t give Montreal a stellar pick because Treliving is a dumbass.

They would have gotten Florida's first instead

It also really placed the flames in a unique position where teams all of a sudden have new found cap space paired with a draft that is all over the place after the first 10 or so picks and a desire to get better. The flames have a ton of players that would be attractive to a team looking for that player to add, Andersson, Coleman, Pospisil, Kadri and Backs all come to mind. I don’t think I’ve been so excited for a draft in many years!! Hoping for Reschny and Kindel with our picks!!

Is Geekie an RFA? I would love to get him, he had a hell of a year.

Thanks guys!
Geekie is 26 years old, and put up 57 points (33 goals) in 77 games for the Bruins. Wish he was available.

Surprised with posters offering up Zary. I think he is in his ascent and is the type of young player you keep. Jmo.

We're just kinda lacking trade pieces, if extension discussions are iffy or not matching what the Flames have in mind then he's an option to move.

I would only trade Zary if it was a mind-blowing offer.

To me Zary is exactly the kind of player the Flames should be trading for, not trading away.

I agree with this sentiment and should have specified when I included him in the list of players potentially in play/available from Calgary. With some of the top 10 picks being potentially available I think Zary + Andy extended + 18 carries a ton of value.

Conroy has lamented for some time how it stung to lose Schwindt on waivers and not have a right shot center in the Flames lineup to take some draws.
Cody Glass fits the mould perfectly.
A bit of insurance at center ice position too with our aging 1C and 3C.
Short term deal at modest AAV fits Conroy UFA approach. Age 26 also nice.
Source Google AI: Cody Glass's suppression numbers, in the context of ice hockey, refer to his relative success in defensive situations, specifically his Corsi For percentage (CF%) and Fenwick For percentage (FF%). His 2024-2025 season stats show a strong positive impact on his team's puck possession when he's on the ice, with a CF% of 55.5% and a REL CF% (relative to his teammates) of 4.0%. His FF% is even higher at 56.6%, with a REL FF% of 5.0%, indicating he's contributing to a significant suppression of shots against his team.
Solid showing during the 2022-23 season in which he put up 35 points (14 goals and 21 assists) in 72 games played.

Well, I would consider it if I were Conny, if it got us into the top-5....

18 + Zary + Andy extended for 2nd OA would have me pretty happy. If we had to add 32 and Pospisil I would still do it because the flames are loaded on the wing. 5 solid pieces for 1 even if it’s the 2OA/Misa is pretty great value for the sharks in my opinion who already have high end prospects in their core. Call it a pipe dream and maybe it is but I don’t think that value is super far off.

Put that on the list of things I would have never expected. How the actual heck did Morgan Geekie score 33 goals in a season. Always liked him but I could have sworn he nearly played himself back to the AHL a couple years ago
