This is the point. If they have a specific player in mind, unless they’re acquiring pick #1 there’s just too much risk in pulling such a deal until the team with the pick is selecting. Maybe there are a suite of players the Flames would consider, but unless they are confident that moving up would assure them of one of the players trading up to a top 5 slot is a gamble at this point.
If they are talking picks 10 and down, they would probably be satisfied with a number of players, but if they would be trading into the top five they would need some assurances they could acquire their target(s).

The main difference is that the Flames have Kadri and Huberdeau. Although I think Chicago could really use a Kadri-type influence. He's been an amazing influence on the Flames' young players.

I’d be shopping Coleman
Pospisil and Farabee are the same thing. We have too many of those type players.
GET A CENTER! Preferably 23-25 years old and 1.2 points per game minimum.

Yep, and these types of players grow on trees and can be had for a Coleman, Pospisil or Farabee.

Yeah the only ones close are Rob Thomas and Jack Hughes I think. And they are both 25.
