These kids were all 8 years old when McDavid was drafted. A lot of them will be Oilers fans.

Getting generational players is an investment into building fanbases. A lot of these guys were 8 or 9 years old when McDavid came into the league. Even in the LML here when I go to my kid's school, a lot of the kids around that age wear Oilers and McDavid gear. It shouldn't be a surprise that the current draft class has Oiler fans in it, especially if they are from Alberta and Canada in general.

It's sad, but just reality unfortunately.

yup, our fanbase has really eroded over the last decade. We fight over market space with the Oilers and they're heavily winning.

Another lunch pail, hard working team isn't going to change that. We need superstars and a few years of serious contention.

It does feel gross drafting an Oilers fan...

Is Nesbitt an Oilers fan?

Another mock!

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...-round-unfold/

The surprise of this one is he has the Sharks taking Frondell instead of Misa.
Also has McQueen going 5 to Nashville

Oh Sam you wacky SOB!

Flames take Cootes at 18 and Ryker Lee at 32.

I would be good with that.

Boston at 7. Lots of intriguing options there, including non McQueen for those worried about him.

Andersson+18 for 7?
Who says no?

Flames I'd hope. Andersson is worth a mid to low 1st and a decent player/prospect. I'd go 32 and Razz for 7.

It's probably pretty close in value. I would say Boston might be getting the better slightly value wise.

I'd do it from the flames perspective. It probably means you're walking away with one of Desnoyers, O'Brien, Hagens or Martin which would be amazing.

the cost of trading from 18 to 7 is probably a low 1st and a decent player/prospect.

Bruins have two 1sts in 2026, toss in one of them too!

I can't see Hagens falling to 10.

Brady Martin could be available at 7. If the Flames are trying to get into that range, I would bet he is the #1 target.

Boston has an absolutely laughable LW situation. Almost embarrassingly so. Also, the pipeline is very, very thin.

I wonder if they would look very hard at Farabee, Honzek and 32.

That's help now, near future and far future, in a position that is (after Geekie) barely NHL calibre.

Maybe CHI is interested in moving the #3?
They need D-men.
Andersson + Miromanov + #18

#3 is either Misa or Frondell.

It just seems like top 10 picks are very hard to get but you might be right.

Alternatively get Boston to toss in a 2nd. They have two.

Razz+18 for 7+51.

The last thing they need are dmen, they need forwards.
