I’ve got to say that the crop of rookies on the grid are a lot of fun to watch this year. Kimi is a little bundle of energy and fun. Hadjar continually surprises and seems like a really good kid. Bearman and Bort are doing a decent job getting the best out of their cars.

A lot more fun than watching a bunch of Latifi’s and Mazepins’s.

I have no desire to see the F1 movie

Yeah, heard not so great things about it. Coming from proper F1 journo’s, the racing scenes are pretty well done but the plot is paper thin and frankly a bit (a lot) stupid. I mean, you have a 60 year old Brad Pitt running around being a F1 driver…

Both the British & the Dutch pundits I listen to admitted to falling asleep halfway through.

Can’t be as bad as driven though (yes, no capital d, that piece of crap doesn’t deserve one)

The reviews are very strong and it’s tracking to do quite well. Initial reactions are super positive.

I suspect the same people who will be mad it’s not a documentary, especially the British press, also hate Rush because it was too fake, Miracle on ice because it was too fake, top gun because it was too fake…I digress.

The euro/british gatekeeping and snobbery is easily the worst part of F1 (and all sports, really). They hated it the minute it was announced it was an American movie about F1. I doubt most of them even watched it.

It’s actually funny how mad F1 reddit is that it’s getting good reviews or exists at all. People are beside themselves that their precious sport is being made Hollywood and that the movie isn’t 100% realistic.

Anything is better than Driven. Except for the whole picking up quarter with the tires thing. Nothing will beat that.
