And just like that the Oilers Cap problem moving forward goes away.

Not only the dressing room thing, but helping a division rival out of a cap crunch? And giving them a pick to do so? This can’t be the whole story.

This is an all-time stupid move by the Canucks. Their fans should be livid.

What are the Canucks thinking? I can’t see why the Canucks would take on an aging middle-six player with a notorious reputation for causing problems with teams everywhere he goes - and they have a pick for him. And, even worse, it bails out a division rival from a cap problem.

Ok hear me out -

Kane has 1 more year on his contract and will be extremely motivated to have a big year and behave to get another contract

Motivated non bitchy Kane is still a solid asset

He’s exactly the type of player who thrives when he wants to - and he wants to get another big contract

He can either by flipped at the deadline for most likely more then the canucks paid as a rental if Van does poorly or helps them be good

Van only has to deal with him for 1 year (or until trade deadline ) and worse case you just tell him to F off and lose a mid pick

I can't think of a better locker room fit than Vancouver for this jerk lol. That organization is quickly turning into the laughing stock of the NHL.

I actually wish Flames were doing more moves like this using their cap space
I sure hope this was missing green text. Especially the bolded.

They just dismantled their team in an effort to get rid of bad attitudes on the team....now this? And why is anyone helping the Oilers with their cap situation?

On the plus side Kane was 5th for goals and 6th for points during their playoff run. So now they need to find someone better for Kane for less money after they sign Bouchard.

????

Was winning the Calder Cup too much of a good feeling for the fan base and they had to snuff that out as quickly as possible?
