Political and religious propaganda does not make military/national strategy.
We literally had two hyperpowers consistently calculating nuclear war for 60 years without it happening.
I think people forget how much India and Pakistan absolutely hate each other (2 million people died in the break up of British India in religious pogroms)
Look at what North Korea spouts off towards the west, and south korea. They haven't done #### thanks to nuclear deterrent (and, frankly, neither has the west for the same reason).
The "wipe off the map" and "to the sea" schtick is a great calling card for the islamic world, which allows the dictators and underground orgs to raise vast sums of money. The same way that crap plays amongst the zionists and religious holy war christian zealots.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told CNN in a statement: “This alleged assessment is flat-out wrong and was classified as ‘top secret’ but was still leaked to CNN by an anonymous, low-level loser in the intelligence community. The leaking of this alleged assessment is a clear attempt to demean President Trump, and discredit the brave fighter pilots who conducted a perfectly executed mission to obliterate Iran’s nuclear program. Everyone knows what happens when you drop fourteen 30,000 pound bombs perfectly on their targets: total obliteration.”
|
Well that's embarrassing...
Near weapon grade enriched uranium still intact and location unknown? Check
Nuclear sites core components intact? Check
Severely pissed off Iran who has awakened sleeper cells in the US? Check
Trump loses his dream of a Nobel Peace prize? Check

Wow that's hilarious. They cancelled the classified briefings because they lied to the public about a successful mission? What was the end game here....

So...if it was classified as 'Top Secret' then...how did an "anonymous, low-level loser" get ahold of it to leak it...?

It’s not exactly surprising the bunkers weren’t destroyed.
The bomb weighs 14,000kg and is dropped from 12,000 meters, and let us assume that it may not reach terminal velocity and was not propelled it will smash into the ground with 1.65 billion Joules of energy.
Now, one blow from a SPT hammer is ~ 500 Joules. In engineering/geology refusal is 50 N counts (blows), which usually equates to 0.45 meters. Thus, 25,000 Joules of energy. The bomb would penetrate 28 meters into material that meets the SPT refusal requirements which would be considered hard clay.
The fordow complex is overlain by mountains, so let’s assume a dolostone/limestone mix. Using Young Equation (moreso a model), and you’re looking at approximately 6m penetration. Assuming that the limestone is deformed, you could potentially see a 100% increase, perhaps more, so about 10-15 meters of penetration.
Not exactly surprising to see the US admit that they didn’t collapse the entire structure.

This is what happens when you elect a narcissistic buffoon to the the highest office in the land and appoint incompetent, inexperienced assclowns to fill out your administration. What a mess.

Why do some people, who aren't MAGA Republicans, talk like Trump actually has a chance of winning a Nobel Peace Prize.
It never was, and never will be in the cards.
The people who decide these things, are not stupid. Trump can talk all he wants about what he's done, but anyone who isn't in the cult knows it's 100% BS.
I suspect there aren't many MAGA republicans on the committee who awards Nobel Prizes, so I don't think the outcome of whole series of events will have much impact on whether or not Trump actually wins a Nobel Prize.

The MOP is reportedly able to penetrate through about 18 m of reinforced concrete with a compressive strength of 5,000 psi.[32][33] Iranian domestic research has produced concrete exceeding 30,000 psi, a level that could sharply reduce the bomb’s effective penetration depth.[34] Complicating matters further is the possibility of deflection or yaw caused by advanced bunker-shell construction techniques.

Apparently the rock above the concrete there is also really really hard, so it was never a guarantee of success on this one. I think it was more wishful thinking and "what have we got to lose?" (that's rhetorical for us, not for their brains).

I remember finding out during his last term that literally anyone can nominate anyone for the Peace Prize. Its just filling out a form easy.
He will never win one but he will probably make a bigly deal out of being nominated and then being cheated out of it by those corrupt Norwegians.

I'm tempted to ask a friend to nominate me. Of course, I wouldn't win it, but at the very least, my obituary could read 'D' as in 'David,' Nobel Peace Prize nominee.

Fun fact: one of the best ways to improve your chances of winning is to spell Nobel properly. From Trump's 2020 campaign:

Who's this No-BEL? Trump is noble. That's an even better prize.
Seriously though, this whole thing is absolutely nuts. Trump basically scolds both sides like they were toddlers and they stop fighting?
