Robertson is an elite player. Period. Elite is a very big stretch. Teams don't trade away elite players in their prime.

So someone who has averaged over a point per game through 374 games with an average of 37 goals per 82. 2 40+ goal seasons and a 109 point season at 25 years old is a very big stretch to call elite? Give your head a shake.

Getting Rantanen and losing in 5 to the Oilers seems to have altered the Stars plans. I think they are more likely to get a top prospect or really high pick if they do trade Robertson.

Some people suggest Andersson getting a top 10 pick? That won’t happen but a player like Robertson is exactly the type of player a team trying to get out of a rebuild trades their top 10 pick for.

I’ve always hated Dallas. I hate Jamie Benn and I hate them even more after getting dummied by the Oilers.

I have literally said every time that I would much rather use our assets to move up. Not trade for any wingers or middling players on other teams.

Robertson is 6’3 and plays like he’s 3’6.

Wingers of Robertson’s caliber that can be part of our organization for 9 years (this year + 8 year deal) don’t often come around either. I know everyone wants that center, we still have 2026 draft and potential centers available for trade in the future. If a guy like Robertson is available, you figure out a deal if you have the Stars strongly looking at your package — which I think they would be with Andersson involved.

Trading Tkachuk was a stupid Treliving blunder. Trading Rantanen looks like a blunder as well. Both winners.

What has Robertson done in the playoffs? The guy plays scared and pretty much disappears whenever it matters. But he's good in the regular season.

Pretty much the last thing we need. A player to make us finish higher, but keep us never good enough to win a cup.
