according to multiple sources, the anaheim ducks are in “significant discussions” with multiple teams on a trevor zegras trade, and the likelihood is growing the talented 24-year-old forward could be traded this week.
Zegras, the ninth overall pick in the 2019 draft, had back-to-back 20-goal, 60-point seasons in 2021-22 and 2022-23. His last two years, unfortunately, were derailed by injury. There is no denying his skill, and the ducks praised him for diversifying his game in 2024-25 to become more of a two-way player.
But it’s always seemed like the day would come where he’d get a fresh start, and we appear to be reaching that point. We’ll see where this week takes us.

Would buy low. Buy low opportunities come when organizations have soured their internal operations, and sewer their own player values because players can't overcome poor organizational health (Buffalo, Anaheim under their last coach, and if we're being honest probably that last stretch under Treliving here).
Does Zegras have knocks against him? Absolutely, but you have to separate the young man from the negativity of the environment - and that's why change of scenary trades can work out.
Buy low on Zegras? Absolutely. Competitively bidding in any sort of large scale sweepstakes for Zegras? Nah.

I still think a Zegras+ deal for Robertson makes sense.

Agree. Buy low on Zegras.
He could be our Bennett.

I’m probably in the minority but I wouldn’t hate a Zegras+ for Andersson trade

He is technically a center (in a loose sense, can play all 3 positions), but has spent more time on the wing recently.
CapWages has his usage listed as 41.6% at Center and 47% at LW
I would be down for a deal centering around Zegras and Raz, depending on the exact pieces going each way

Zegras is 24 now. I just wouldn't be willing to trade much for a player that I don't think would be a part of our core going forward. I would rather using the draft picks/prospects we already have, or could acquire with whatever we would trade for him.
I think we need to find that core centre piece first before acquiring what I believe would be a project in Zegras.

Zegras to the Isles could be interesting if they're locked in on Schaefer. If they plan to somehow get Hagens, it doesn't make as much sense, but they are seriously lacking skill up front

Zegras for Byram, as the main pieces, could make sense for both teams
