Grabbed a 65” Samsung at Visions today for $600 as it was 25% off. We put it on the bedroom today and it fits but just barely. It is crazy how cheap TV’s are nowadays. In 2006 I purchased a 46” Sharp 1080p LCD and I was working at Future shop at the time and even with the discount it was more than $3k.
Keep in mind there's a huge gap between 65" inch entry level TV and 2-3 steps up. 55-65" entry level TV's have been $400-$700 for years now. Which model did you get?

I got a cheap model for sure it retails at $800 so nothing special. Only 2 HDMI ports and I could see myself needing 3 but with that said it is just for the bedroom and not a primary TV.
Looking to replace our primary 65” TV. Looking to keep in a $1000-$1500 budget and am fairly ignorant when it comes to what I should be looking for. Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated.

You looking to upgrade or stay ignorant to better quality tv? I'm not well versed with the best stuff right now, but you could either "cheap out" (probably similar performance to old tv) and pocket the diff or upgrade and use up your full budget.

If you're willing to go to the higher side of your budget, you're generally looking at:
-solid mid-range Sony or Samsung full-array backlit LCD
-higher end model from the Chinese brand that uses mini-LED LCD which theoretically offers reduced blooming and better contrast but probably inferior image processing to Sony
Other than it being too big to move it down to the basement in the box (lol), loving it so far. Wasn't sure how I'd adjust from the 65" to the 85", but it's awesome.

I got a Samsung 85” like 4 years ago. It’s not our primary TV (bonus room for big sport events, some console gaming) and it’s been fantastic. Love the TV, good pick.

I hate to say it but the new Amazon Fire Omni Mini-LED series are looking really good and the price is good. Here is a review from LTT. 65" $1399
Any recommendations for a full-motion TV mount? Or any brands to stay away from?
I've bought Vivo brand for a bunch of mounts (TV and monitors) and other stuff like sound bar brackets etc. I've always been happy with how thoughtful and solid their products are, in the end.
The Vivo stuff doesn't seem specifically impressive until I get some other cheapo brand hardware for slightly cheaper. Then when it's side by side, all of the minor details for the cheapo product seem so blatantly apparent from minor design differences that don't look as refined, nuts and bolts quality to "ergonomic" plastic parts designed that doesn't cut into your skin when you're tightening it etc. IMO, I've typically concluded paying marginally more for Vivo brand (25-50% more) is easily worth it. More than that, I'd consider cheapo brands, but I wouldn't be as happy with going with cheapo brands.
Don't get me wrong, something like a cheapo monitor arm or brackets will still work fine vs the Vivo. But the Vivo for instance I've never had issues with arms that aren't perfectly aligned, or look as raw/sharper edges, or cables as easily snagged on corners etc.

Isn't Vivo mostly for computers? I'm mounting a 65" TV.
I've been looking at this. It gets decent reviews and the installation is said to be super easy.

This looks like the equivalent Vivo mount with tilt for a 60-120" TV. It's $10 more than the one you linked. https://a.co/d/8TMH5Aw
Idk, maybe it's the marketing or images, but the Vivo just looks more refined and no nonsense. Max tilt is same at 15 degrees but extension is 27.7 Vs 22" for the one you linked. Also supposed to be easy to install yourself.
But the pricing of those two seems overkill for a 65" TV unless maybe you will install bigger in future. I personally have the prime cables one and it's like $100. With a max of 105" instead of 120". If I needed another mount I'd probably grab this again. Not sure the Vivo is necessary, but the Vivo does seem slightly more robust vs this prime cables one, esp if I can take up to 120" Vs 105" and 264lbs limit vs 165lbs. https://a.co/d/aepUDJ3
Edit: Wait. What am I missing? Why is the one you linked so expensive if it's 90" and 125lbs max?
I am looking for a tv/monitor where I can use it for work but also a small room tv. 30ish inches. Decent quality. Can you just plug your laptop into them now?
