I wasn't belligerent or rude but I did give them ####. They tried to explain it away saying it was an unusually busy day, I guess it just happened to be a busy day last year when I came in. Then another unusually busy day at the 2nd location I had to drive to. Wasn't a small branch either, Southcenter CIBC.
Yeah, no one thinks it's incompetence, they have numbers that have been adjusted for what's on hand. Banks want to discourage the use of cash so they make it less convenient.

I went to the Kensington RBC today, and not only was it closed, the ATM's were also inaccessible behind locked doors. Is that normal for a Saturday at 11? They really don't want us using cash anymore.

I got a settlement cheque from a class-action lawsuit against Banks over-charging vendors and I went to the Bank to cash it.
"Oh do you want me to put it into your account?"
You want me to take the money your bank gave me for grifting me and give it right back to you?
Naw...Cash son. Now.
"We dont have that much cash tho!"

I’m starting to like it because I know the get-around and I’m getting right through to a person because the actual humans aren’t busy anymore since no one else knows how to get past the AI chatbots.

Yeah, that's the one that gets me. You've been experiencing higher than normal call volume every day for 38 months now, and been so overwhelmed you haven't been able to do anything to address it. Sure.

I had to visit a branch with my son who is now an adult to transfer control of his savings over to him. When I got to the branch, it was closed. On a Friday. A check of the website shows that branch now only operates Mon-Thurs.

My bank is the worst, I deal with Scotia. Wanna deposit cash after work? Nope, branch closes at 5 and the ATMs are not accessible after-hours, even with a client card. Oh, you can use the sketchy outdoor ATM on 7 Ave @ 7 St, except the touchscreen is completely buggered so you can’t actually do anything once your PIN is entered.

Uber eats just never arrived. Zero ability to contact the on phone or otherwise. Drivers just cancel 80% into the process and you can’t do schists about it. No recourse.
